Babies…. Exercises? Really? Absolutely.

Exercises for babies actually play an important part in healthy development, even from this very young age! They are fantastic for brain and body development and babies love them!

Exercises not only develop strength and tone in your babies’ big and small muscles they also, very importantly, help your babies learn to move and this results in brain growth.

Babies’ brains grow through movement. By introducing the correct movement experiences into your babies’ daily lives from the earliest months, you can have a profound influence on their brain growth and neurological organisation

Each exercise sends messages to your babies’ brain about their body parts and how they can move.

These movements become very important building blocks for more difficult movements later on. The stronger the foundation building blocks, the more coordinated your babies will be and the more easily they will learn in all areas of their development.

Here are some important tips for baby exercises:

Babies love doing exercises rhythmically. Any type of music with a regular beat will do, as will singing or humming. This has the added benefit of also helping with the development of your babies’ speech and hearing and their future coordination and mathematics skills!

Baby exercises are movements that every parent can do and, as babies crave activities that are developmentally good for them, they are a really lovely way to bond with your babies.

Isn’t it great that all this development happens while you are having such a lovely time together!

  • Baby exercise is so important. The physio gave us a bunch of great activities to help develop skills. Like the hands on knees rocking, great to introduce rolling.

  • We have made a game out of these sort of exercises, also just talking and singing about the different parts of the body. They really do help little ones with getting used to how to move.

  • Lovely to do and see, touch and movement are a joy to do and also free. After babies bath time a massage is good too, relaxes baby as well as you. Singing to babies too while doing this is calming and fun to do. Just like to comment as thoughts flow through. The photo I share brings tears to my eyes. As this cat adopted me and was a treasure called Honey, we were at the vets as she was ill and tired too. Like family she as part of two way caring was very special to me.This as her last day in pain and resigned so had to set her free

    • Thanks for sharing your photo and thoughts. The power of love is incredible.
