It’s always great to start the week off with baby news…and we’ve been waiting for this announcement with anticipation. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced on Valentine’s Day that they are expecting their second child.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared their excitement with the world by posting a gorgeous black and white photo of Meghan resting in Harry’s lap with a very visible baby bump.

“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child,” the message read.

The Royal couple is currently living in California with son Archie, who will be turning 2 in May.

Emotional Rollercoaster

This child will be Harry and Meghan’s much-anticipated rainbow baby, after she penned an emotional article for the New York Times about the traumatic miscarriage she experienced when trying for baby number 2.

The timing of their announcement is quite poignant, given that Harry’s mum – Princess Diana – announced that she was pregnant with Harry on Valentine’s Day 37 years ago.

Boy or Girl?

There have been no further announcements whether little Archie will be getting a baby brother and sister or when the baby is due. Speculation is rife though that the new Baby Sussex is due pretty soon in Autumn (Spring in the USA).

The new bub will be eighth-in-line to the throne and will be entitled to be named a Lord or Lady. However, it is expected that Harry and Meghan will, just like Archie, decide to not give their child an official title.

It is not yet clear where the couple plan to have their second child.
