The classic chicken parmigiana is certainly a pub favourite across Australia. This bakery has added its own little twist.

Banjo’s bakery chain has turned the good old parmie into none other than a chicken parmigiana pie.

Released on Wednesday, Banjo’s Bakery’s $7.95 meal is layered with Virginia ham, cheese and Hollondaise mayonnaise and has been flying off the racks in stores in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and Tasmania.

A staff member at Banjo’s Mildura branch in Victoria told FEMAIL the pie had gone down a treat with customers on the very first day, with 20 pies sold in the morning session alone.

‘We’ve had really great feedback and the response from customers has been really high because of the social media campaign.

‘They can’t believe people haven’t thought of the pies before.’

  • I would certainly give it a taste test but only if they had bits for sampling, I wouldnt actually buy one until I knew if they were any good or not.

  • wow – I don’t think I would personally eat one of these I prefer my parmy with chips and salad! – but what a creative thing to make into a pie! – I loved Banjo’s as a kid when I lived in Tassie, good to see they are still going strong down there.
