It’s a big year for the beloved Mr. Men books – celebrating 50 years since the very first Mr. Men book – Mr. Men: Mr. Tickle was ‘born’.

In honour of this milestone, we are giving one lucky MoM the chance to win a mega Mr. Men prize bundle, including a limited giant Mr. Happy plush toy, a Mr. Men and Little. Miss Complete Library set, Mr. Small’s Big Book of Drawing, and one copy of the anniversary edition of Mr. Tickle.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Mr. Men: Mr Tickle, a special gold-foil upsized edition will be available on 30 March. Highlighting the gold-anniversary, this new edition of the classic Mr. Tickle tale is a wonderful way for parents to share a much-loved favourite with their little ones.

The late Roger Hargreaves founded Mr. Men in 1971, when his then 8-year-old son, Adam Hargreaves, asked “What does a tickle look like?” In response, Roger drew a figure with a round orange body and extraordinary long arms and Mr. Tickle was born. Mr. Tickle then went on to sell a million copies in just three years.

Now, 50 years later you can enjoy this special upsized edition of the classic story with a bonus back-story about how it all began. The perfect gift for fans of the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.

With a cast of over 90 characters, Mr. Men and Little Miss have been delighting children for generations with their charming and funny antics. Bold illustrations and hilarious stories make any Mr. Men and Little Miss the perfect story time experience for children aged two up.

Winners for this competition

  1. S. McRaeQLD
  • Mr Funny because nothing is better than making people laugh

  • Mr Happy. It’s Daddy’s nickname because of his big smile.

  • Mr Bump. When our son bangs into things, or as little men do…leap off the couch onto the beanbag, sometimes it results in a bump. He has related to Mr Bump on a number of occasions, we personally think it is his alter ego.

  • Little Miss Energy as that’s just like my little one, always going everywhere at speed!

  • My daughter loves little miss chatterbox because she is one. My son loves Mr tickle because he loves how he goes around tickling people and that his long arms can get him things from another room.

  • Mr. Happy because he is bright and cute and funny. Everyone loves Mr. Happy really.

  • Mr. Tickle as tickling my little one always makes me giggle too.

  • Mr Happy, because we believe life is too short and we need to enjoy every single moment and don’t worry about things we can not control.

  • My favourite growing up was always little miss sunshine, she is who I aspired to be! Whenever there was negativity or sadness or anger in my life I thought of her and how positive she was and It made me feel better! I always try and spread sunshine to everyone I meet!

  • Little miss sunshine has always been my favourite and is now my kids favourite! the only colour i liked as a child was yellow so im sure that is why she was the one i loved the most!

  • My daughters favourite is mr bump.she asks for that particular book more often than the others. I think she likes to know that there are others more clumsy than she is. She relates to him some days, she is also compassionate and probably feels sorry for him.

  • Little Miss Naughty. Its good to show kids that there are implications to being naughty and we always have choices.

  • Mt Tickle, because by some cruel twist of fate, this extremely ticklish mamma had three boys, all of whom are immune to tickling, so they LOVE playing Mr Tickle! Me, not so much!

  • My favourite – Mr Mean. I could not believe how mean he was! I would read to my friends. It taught me expression in reading! This is the best prize ever. I can’t express what that would mean to me winning this and continuing sharing the stories with children I look after.

  • Me tickle for my daughter who lives to be tickled before bed. Sweet stories

  • Little miss Naughty, she can be a real bugga, but she always comes good ( well for a short while) and mr messy, as well my kids can get rather messy,

  • My children like the strange adventures of Mr Uppity, and it is a good book for teaching new words.

  • I’ve grown up on these books I’d love to win to keep these books to give to my future grandchildren. My favourite is little miss sunshine, growing up my mum became ill and I used to read it when I got sad having to come to terms with her not being the mum she used to be after she became brain damaged

  • My daughter and I love little miss sunshine because she is always happy which is how everyone should be in life.

  • Little Miss Bad is my kids favourite as she was the one who built the brick home in the book “The three little Miss and the big bad wolf”!. The kids think LIttle Miss Bad is intelligent, a team player and a hero in this book and are aspiring to be just like her!!
