This month MoM members could WIN 1 of 20 copies of the novel Fearless, the gripping new novel from the bestselling author of The Mothers’ Group and Wife on the Run.

Six strangers from across the world converge on the tropical island of Bali to attend a course designed to help them face their fears. Their backgrounds are as diverse as their fears – which range from flying, public speaking and heights, through to intimacy, failure and death.

Friendships and even romance blossoms as the participants are put through a series of challenges which are unusual, confronting and sometimes hilarious. A week of fun in the sun suddenly transforms into something far more serious, however, when the unthinkable happens – a tragic disaster that puts the group in deadly danger that will test the individual courage of every member.

  • My biggest fear is loss. I am still working on it, but I am not sure it is something I can overcome.

  • My biggest fear is something happening to my daughter, I get very anxious when I worry about it so I try to calm myself by taking deep breaths and thinking positively. I think it is normal to have some anxiety. I need to stop worrying so much.

  • Huntsmen’s!!! When my FIFO husband is away, I call my bestie and she takes it away and releases it far away from my house!!

  • I think like most mums, my biggest fear is something happening to our son. He is our only child and very precious to us. To overcome this fear, I imagine a white, protective light around him if he is going out and it seems to work for me.

  • My biggest fear is something awful happening to my loved ones i do fret alot , I find a zen spot in my home and drink herbal teas to help with the anxiety

  • I’ve suffered two completely unexpected heart attacks – one at 46 years of age and another at 47. With no risk factors, I’m fearful whenever I feel the slightest chest pains. Anxiety medication is the only thing that is helping me overcome this fear at the moment, although I’m working on relaxation techniques!

  • Spiders attacking me in my sleep – I now spray and meditate

  • my biggest fear was heights and one day when I was on holiday I decided to overcome it when my sister dared me to go bungey jumping. I was petrified that I was going to die. I still get a little nervous when I am up high but I can handle it now

  • My biggest fear is getting lost as when I was travelling I got trapped in Venice with no map and a whole lot of canals getting me all confused. Now I have learnt my lesson and either embrace the lost adventure or I take a map :-p

  • My biggest fear is running out of time,
to overcome that I live everyday to the fullest and make the best out of life.

  • Drowning, I am terrified of the water, always have been since a little kid. I just stay away and out of pools and the ocean and never go on boats.
