Roses are red, violets are blue, Osher Günsberg is a love guru. Make a date to remember with host Osher Günsberg and music from your favourite romantic movies.

Whether you are coupled up or happily single, everyone can appreciate a cosy night in with a romantic movie. Now, take your cosy night in out on the town for a special Valentine’s Day treat as the Sydney Symphony brings to life music from Baz Lurhmann’s 1996 adaptation of Romeo + Juliet, Disney Pixar’s Up, James Cameron’s epic Titanic and many more of your favourite romantic movies.

Host Osher Günsberg – one of Australia’s most loved celebrities – is not only a love guru (think 14 seasons of The Bachelor franchise), but a music buff too. He’s the perfect guide to this glamorous evening of your favourite love tracks.

So, bring your significant other, bring your lover, bring your ‘galentines’ (and bring your tissues). A concert for everyone and anyone who wants to share the love…with Osher.

A Valentine’s to Remember is on at the Sydney Town Hall on 14 and 15 February. For more information, visit sydneysymphony.com

  • Love actually, because it mixes the beauty of Christmas with the beauty of love and really fills up your heart with love when you watch it. Plus the actors are awesome. AND I love the British Accent.

  • I love it a lot,
    I love it almighty.
    My favourite romantic
    is “Titanic”. ALRIGHTY!

  • Pixar’s ‘Up’ – a meaningful yet simple, true to life relationship crafted in the film’s opening, paired with a perfect soundtrack to pull at the heartstrings, makes this a winner. Carl’s quest to honour Ellie results in a truly moving and unexpected adventure which is testament to love in all forms!

  • The Notebook, it gets me every time I watch it, tears are pouring down my face by the end of the movie. Such deep, profound love that knows no boundaries – a true love story that is so rare in this day in age.

  • Crybaby!
    Made in 1990,
    This movie just might be,
The most romantically, cringe-worthy musical I know.
With Johnny Depp as lead delinquent, Wade,
    Allison, the square, he serenades.
All while singing some catchy, love-struck tunes.
Watching it is a great way to spend an afternoon!

  • NOTTING HILL tops my list. The storyline is enchanting , the setting eclectic, the cast iconic, the soundtrack amazing…It’s a mellow, magical and memorable movie.

  • Love Actually! The cheating scene where she listens to the Joanie Mitchell CD. And, of course, just in cases!

  • Yes I am going to say it – Love Actually. It’s funny, sad, relatable, romantic and everything in between. What is not to love! Unless you are my hubby who says it’s unrealistic. What does he know!

  • A Star Is Born (2018)

If you’re looking for a story about people brought together by talent and torn apart by fame, you can watch a number of takes on A Star Is Born: There’s the 1937 original with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, the 1954 version with Judy Garland and James Mason, and the 1976 remake with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. But only the most recent one, with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, has a performance of the heart-rending song “Shallow.”

  • Pretty Woman, a Cinderella type love story with a good amount of humour makes for an enjoyable, fun romcom

  • Notting Hill – I like the idea of meeting someone unexpectedly and falling in love with them. It also wouldn’t hurt if they were a rich and famous movie star too!

  • THE NOTEBOOK of course.
We all want that one love. That love that will never leave us, not even when times are tough.
It’s definitely rare these days to have what Allie and Noah had, but happy to say, I have it ❤

  • my favorite romantic movie is Camelot with richard harris and vanessa redgrave it is a beautiful love story told in story and song and doesnt really have a happy ending but it is a lovely film ,one i have watched several times.

  • The Notebook of course – just a beautiful love story and such a tear jerker as well. Beautiful to watch every time!

  • My favourite romantic movie is Twilight, man take me back to 2009 vibes where my friends and I would binge watch between tears, laughs and smiles. I love this movie because it has so many memories attached into it.

  • The BBC Pride and Prejudice. Two words- Collin Firth. Need I say more?

  • Has to be titanic. She threw her life away for love and he gave up his life for love. Its s9 romantic in suxh a pure innocent way.

  • Sound of music its so very sad

  • My favourite romantic movie is 10 things i hate about you, I love how it isn’t a typical romance movie and Kat doesn’t fit the normal constraints of a main lady in a romantic movie. She is bold, brazen and all about getting what she wants and needs and not letting anyone take advantage of her.

  • My favourite is titanic I love the true love of this disaster the woman that refused to leave their husbands , The men that kissed there families good bye knowing they would never see them again . Truly a beautiful movie
