Whether you’re a first-time mum, expecting mum, or even a returning mum who’d like to cope better this time around, we’re giving away one of these incredible programs to give you all the information and tools to support you into motherhood.

‘Transitioning to Motherhood: Six Steps for New Mums to Thrive’ is a self-paced, online program to mums; Move from feeling overwhelmed and alone to coping, connected, and confident as a mother.

This program will:

  • Prepare you for the realities of motherhood- so that you don’t have to learn everything the hard way and can hit the ground running!
  • Help you cope with motherhood- so that mumlife is easier for you and you don’t have to struggle any longer than you have to.
  • Build your physical, emotional, family, and social wellbeing after birth – because you matter too. And, being in the best shape you can be allows you to be the best mother you can be.
  • Develop confidence in yourself as a mother, so that you grow and flourish in your new role.

Content that is covered in ‘Transitioning to Motherhood’:

  • Unhelpful motherhood myths, how these negatively affect you, and how to move beyond them.
  • Identify and reflect on your own expectations of motherhood and how these shape your experiences of motherhood.
  • Normal motherhood experiences are explained, as well as indicators of distress; you’ll know when to seek help for yourself.
  • Learn creative tricks and tips about how to care for yourself whilst you’re caring for your little one, so that you CAN have time to eat and get more sleep. (And no, it is NOT about ‘sleep when the baby sleeps’ or overlooking your baby to prioritise yourself; it’s about learning how to do both creatively and effectively).
  • Reflect on what holds you back from accepting help from others, and overcome these barriers. Creating and allowing a village of support can make the difference between a stressed and a relaxed mum, even if this challenges you in the beginning!
  • Improve your coping with multiple tools, including quick practices and ones you can do on the fly; they are mum and baby-friendly!
  • Learn the key to bonding with your baby- even if you already have.
  • Learn about typical relationship changes after baby, and how you can navigate these. (Let’s be real- most relationships take a hit after baby comes along.)
  • Step back from comparing yourself to other mums- you might be surprised how much better you feel when you learn how to do this.
  • Manage unwanted (and unsolicited) advice from other people.
  • Focus on how you want to parent your baby
  • Build confidence in yourself as a mother, and find your own way forward as a parent.

About Dr Emma Black, the Creator:

Dr Emma is a Clinical Psychologist and mother of two boys. Dr Emma is passionate about supporting women and has dedicated her career to this. A couple of years ago, when Emma became so booked out that she had lengthy wait periods (and even had to close her books for a period), she really missed supporting women as they became mothers. This is when ‘Transitioning to Motherhood’ got birthed, as so many women face similar challenges when they become mothers.

What’s included in ‘Transitioning to Motherhood: Six Steps for New Mums to Thrive’:

  • Six modules on motherhood topics essential for new mums.
  • Access to evidence-based, quality psychological skills that have been used with many mums before.
  • Video and audio files, so that you can watch the content or listen to it as a podcast. Access it in the way that works best for you.
  • A 27-page course handbook with psychological skills to guide you into motherhood.
  • Explanations of relevant, recent research in understandable terms- and how you can apply these findings to succeed and cope.
  • Access via any device with internet connection. And if you have an apple device, teachable even has an app!
  • And, lifetime access to the course.
  • But, most importantly… The opportunity to become a happier, flexible, and more confident mother.
