Could This Mean The Return of the Kmart Cafe

It’s Kmart’s 50th birthday and to celebrate they asked fans to share their favourite memories. Guess what that was?

In a slide show of images shared on Instagram, the popular retailer asked their followers to recall their “favourite Kmart memory”, triggering flashbacks of better times involving a very loved café.

“The chips and gravy in your old cafes,” one fan wrote.

“When they had a restaurant inside. You could shop and eat. It was always such a treat,” another said.

One person wrote: “Holly’s Cafe, chips and gravy, by far the best memory of Kmart.”

“Holly’s crinkle cut chips,” someone else agreed.

“Bring back the cafes! They were awesome!” one fan wrote.

Someone else wrote: “When people mentioning cafes say whaaattt. I feel like I’m missing out bring them back!”

“You defo gotta bring back Holly’s,” another agreed.

Oh I loved the kmart cafe. It was awesome and had great food at a reasonable price.

Never knew that K-Mart ever had a café in it as I can’t remember K-Mart being around when I was a child. Do remember the Coles cafeterias though and they were great. Our Coles had a coffee area and a sort if a restaurant area after its first refit, but it and the Wifi set up they had have now gone due to lack of use.

I used to love the Kmart, Target, Coles and Myer Cafe’s. Bring them back. Ahh the memories I have of them.

I knew Coles used to have a café but never knew Kmart did. It would be great if they brought it back.

I remember this! It’d be fantastic for Launceston as we have a 24hr Kmart so would be good to see it open until at least 10pm.

Never knew Kmart had a cafe, I say bring it back, plus toliets. The amount of times I have to leave things in a trolley to take my children to a toliet is unbelievable.

I have wonderfully fond memories of going shopping in the city with my mum and grandma. We would always visit Holly’s cafe in Kmart. It was such a treat!

I remember the first time I saw the cafe instore and wondered what it would be like to eat there and what a treat it would have been. Such a treat! We didn’t have a store close to us so even being in a big department store held awe.
