Hello!

Look away bargain hunters! The Aldi sausage roll maker is coming. Sure, it’s slightly cheaper than the Kmart cult version. BUT we say this Special Buy is just not worth it!

This pastry appliance is a bit too flaky in our opinion. We certainly don’t have much faith in Aldi gadgets after the recent snack maker bombed. But we just don’t think it’s worth the stress and frustration of lining up at dawn only to discover your local only had two Aldi sausage roll makers to begin with. Certainly not worth it for saving a measly 4 bucks.

The Aldi sausage roll maker is priced at the discounted $24.99, less than the $29 Kmart version. It features non-stick cooking plates and can crisp up both sweet and savoury snacks.

Twins!

Both Kmart and Aldi machines look pretty much exactly the same. They both can make a batch of four mince sausage rolls or roll out four imitation Maccas apple pies. We reckon they’re most likely made in the same factory and just packed in different boxes.

The Aldi sausage roll maker (aka pastry maker) is part of a massive kitchen Special Buys on Wednesday 9 September. Besides the pastry maker, there is the Thermomix Dupe price at a quarter of the cost of the real thing. There’s also a 16L multifunction airfryer, a compact food processor as well as economically-priced oven, cooktop and even a dishwasher.

Zero Social Distancing

So you don’t have to be a genius to predict that there will be queues of eager beavers snaking around the block, hoping to get their paws on one of the kitchen special buys on offer.

If your sole goal is to get an Aldi sausage roll maker…don’t do it! Kmart seems to have caught up on the backlog and now you can pick up the original machine from your local Kmart store as well as online. So much more relaxed than having fisticuffs in Aldi in order to save a few dollars.

But You Should Line Up For This….

If you don’t yet have a Thermomix, I would, however, consider lining up to get hold of the Smart Wi-fi Thermocooker, priced at $499. This looks like a mega-amped up version of the Mistral Thermo Cooker which was on sale earlier in the year for $299. This latest model features a large touchscreen LCD panel, inbuilt scale and timer, Wifi connectivity, 14 cooking functions, preloaded recipes and comes with a number of accessories.

And This…

The 16-litre multi-function air fryer with oven, dehydrator and rotisserie functions, selling for just $149, also looks like a deal worth lining up for.

The gadget comes with racks, an oil drip tray, rotating mesh basket, a rotating rotisserie spit with skewer set, fork and a rotisserie removal tool.

  • I am happy to make my sausage rolls the traditional way

    Reply

  • Oh that would be a great kitchen gadget to get!

  • Would no longer line up for anything from Aldi that is electrical – have watched a friend return just about everything he has bought from Aldi – so frustrating in the long run.

    Reply

  • I wouldn’t line up for any of Aldi’s electrical products after reading a lot of complaints relating to them. I’m not desperate to line up to buy anything like this from any store.

    Reply

  • Hmm seems a lot like more junk for the kitchen that’s just not needed.

    Reply

  • Doesn’t everyone who wanted one have one by now?

    Reply

  • Not interested in buying this time.

    Reply

  • Not wasting my time indeed to buy any extra appliances till I really need it and then it’s the question I would buy it at Aldi

    Reply

  • I already have so many kitchen appliances that don’t get used ????

    Reply

  • No, here in Victoria it’s not possible to line up for special buys.

    Reply

  • Unfortunately, per their fine print – Victorian state will not have the thermocooker on special due to lockdown and covid! So sad and disappointing because that is the one that I really want to try

    • Aw bless, that is a bit disappointing for you !

  • Yes i will be linning up for the air Fryer Oven It will save me room with the Glass oven & the air Fyer
taking Quite a bit of shelf Space.

  • Ooh I love Aldi but at the moment I do not have an Aldi within my five kilometre radius. I have thought about buying a Thermomix but it is so expensive but the Aldi alternative looks pretty fancy and a more achievable and realistic price to pay for a product. Sausage roll maker no thanks…how often are people making sausage rolls to really need an appliance for just that?

    Reply

  • Nuh I’m not lining up for anything here, if I want something I will get the real product

    Reply

  • I reckon this is an overkill appliance like the pie maker. If you’ve got a toastie maker that’ll do the job for everything anyway.
I reckon there would be more sausage roll makers on sale than air fryers or thermomixers though.

    Reply

  • Thanks. Will stick to Kmart then :)

    Reply

  • I honestly don;t need any more appliances …. plus, a sausage roll maker would not be top of my list!

    • Same for me ! And when I want to make a sausage roll, what’s wrong with simply making it in the oven ?

    Reply

  • Wow their thermocooker looks amazing!

    Reply

  • I find their special buys hit and miss

    Reply

  • I won’t buy buying it. I very rarely buy from Aldi and I hate their specials. Too many peopled wanting the same thing.
