It really shows her good mum instincts, and love for her daughter to make sure she doesn’t feel left out.

When a friend of mine had her 2nd baby I gave the big sister something special I knew she would love. That way she didn’t feel so left out when everybody else ignored her the first time they saw the newborn. Some didn’t say hello to her at all and wondered why she became jealous so quickly.

Guess if you have a lot of money to splash around you can do these sorts of things. I used to tell my children that no further baby could take away the fact that they were No. 1 and loved just for themselves and every other child will have to share – it seems to have worked.
