Hello!

I am 32 years old and have suffered acne since the birth of my second child. Prior to this, never had a problem with my skin. I have tried different face washes, and even different antibiotics from the doctor, but still, nothing has seemed to work. Any suggestions?

  • Just a little encouragement; My 17yr old daughter said the other day that she thinks that acne can be pretty.

  • Washing your face until it is squeaky clean is great use ph balanced moistruiser and clean your pillow cases often as well as hair and eating healthy is good

  • My daughter uses Benzac cleanser and cream and it is working but very very slowly.

  • I’m the same! I never had acne as a teen or before having kids. Now, I look younger in that aspect I guess. Hormone changes maybe?

  • I have had such bad acne too since my son is born too.

I do have a really good cream for it though, it does miracles.
Unfortunately I a not sure you can buy it in Australia.

It’s a prescription medicine I use to have as a teenager and my mum got some from me and brought it to me from France.
I put some before bed at night and in the morning my pimples are either gone or on the way to be gone.

You can always ask a pharmacist they can tell you if it is Available in Australia.
It’s called Differin(e) and it is made of adapalene.

I’ve attached a picture for you.

    Hope this help

  • I found eliminating dairy from my diet worked a treat.

  • I’m sorry I can’t help you with an answer but I’m experiencing the same thing and it’s driving me insane! I’m 34 and so embarrassed picking up kids from school with spotty face, scars and pimples about to burst. I too have tried creams, washes, tea tree oil, medicated creams and antibiotics. I’m interested in responses of what’s helped others. And I wish you the best with finding a solution – I know adult acne after kids which is what happened to me to is hard and finding something that works seems impossible.

  • Exfoiliate, wash, mask. Actually I put little spots of mask on my pimple and leave it overnight, dries it out wonderfully. Of course good old fashioned toothpaste is good on spots too-leave overnight.

  • Cleansing and using a toner helps but if it gets out of control a doctor can help with a prescription to balance out your skin.

  • I drink only water and do a lot of exercise, but still prone to a break out every now and again. So any idea from this page would gladly help me too

  • A visit to the dermatologist may help?

  • I’m sorry I don’t have an answer but I’m in a similar situation with my skin so will be following for ideas. I’ve tried many many things and products. I do use tea tree oil as someone suggested and finds that helps breakouts, but stopping the breakouts is what we both need by the sound of it. Hope you don’t mind if I follow & hope you get some helpful answers.

  • I find a its related to diet.

  • Toothpaste before bed works well

  • Tea tree oil is meant to be good.. along with making sure there is nothing in your diet that is contributing (eg salt, refined carbs, too much dairy etc.) or hormones (might need GP to do some tests).

  • I had cystic acne from my teens til my early 40s. I ended up using Roaccutane. It’s been about 3 years, I still get the occasional spot, but nowhere near as bad
