Hello!

I have all of a sudden gotten super rough heels! It is driving me crazy. I have used the foot balms to no avail….One thing I have found is barrier cream on my feet at night with a pair of socks has shown a slim improvement. Does anyone else have any ideas to help my feet become soft and smooth again??

  • eulactol heel balm and socks. also using a pumice stone

  • Heels can get worse, rough, if you are wearing thongs.
Soak your feet in a rectangular plastic container for 10 to 20 minutes, once a week or at least once a month. This will soften the hard dry skin, rub off with a scratchy face washer and dry.
Have a foot file on hand, file the rough bits into the container.
Rub in your best creme and wear socks to keep it in there, let it settle for 5 minutes before walking around.
Or have a pedicure in a massaging chair at your local nail and foot shop.

  • Try the foot masks

  • I just read an article today about rough heels. One of the suggestions was vinegar in warm water and soak for as long as possible, rinse well

  • following. try not to wear bear feet.

  • This is what I have done and it works as now and then I have rough heels but yours so sound extreme. If skin is very hard, soak feet in warm salt water for a few minutes and after a while you will notice skin has soften . Dry it completely . Then using a foot file ( not the steel one but a pumice stone ) gently rub the heels in a circle motion . Use a cloth to get rid of the debris of the skin. You should notice it is very smooth . If not , continue rubbing . Once satisfied with the smoothness , then massage heel balm and your feet should be very soft by this stage . I am using Dermal Heel Balm Platinum which I was lucky to win on a survey and it has been great. Hope it works for you .

  • Sloughing off the dead skin often, with a pumice stone or the like. Then slather on cream, wrap feet in plastic and put on a pair of socks before bedtime. Repeat regularly

  • I do this too, be consistent mate. I also have the Dr Scholl thing that has a battery and takes the rough skin off…. Best still, get a Pedicure… Bliss!

  • Buy a pumice and give your heels a good rub before a shower. Otherwise, if you have a pedicure, sometimes they will slice the dead skin off your heels with a blade. A podiatrist can also do this. You can buy these blades at the chemist.

  • I soak my feet in warm salt water for an hour a day, then exfoliate while showering. My feet are incredibly soft and smooth from it :)

  • Get one of those sandpaper thingys that scrape/scrub the rough skin off. The slather on barrier cream, moisturiser, petroleum jelly. Wrap in glad wrap and then put your socks on. Just before bedtime….

  • What about ‘Milky feet’. I’ve seen the ad for it and heard some good reviews. It’s a foot sock you put on for 40 minutes or so (has some sort of foot softening mixture in it).

Alternatively I’ve heard listerine and white vinegar is also mean to be good.

  • Get a pedicure where they shave off the dead skin or those plastic socks from priceline that you leave on for an hour and then the skin comes off over a few days, use a pumice stone daily and a good moisturiser. I’m not sure barrier cream would help as you need something that will absorb into the skin but cotton socks at night with a cream will definitely soften them

  • Try using the Miisel brand salt scrub.. You can find it online. I have used it with great results over time. sadly I have let my feet go and the dry cracked heels have returned after 6+ months.

  • I posted a scrub on this site. It is made from things in your cupboard and it works amazingly …. try it … just type foot scrub into the search bar.

    1/4 Cup dry rice
    1 Tbsp honey
    1 tsp apple cider vinegar
    1 – 2 Tbsp olive oil

    Method

Grind the dry rice in a food processor or Mortar and pestle. Play around with the consistency of the rice; you don’t want it to be fine or too course.
Mix all the ingredients together using enough olive oil to make it into a paste.
Before you start the scrubbing organise a towel and a bucket of warm water to rinse.
Massage it into your feet (or get someone that loves you to do it for you). Give it a good scrub and then leave it on for 20 minutes or until the kids needs you.
    Rinse off with warm water.

    Good luck

  • Mine are terrible – so cracked they have crevices! I find Du’it is the best heel balm (smells great and rubs in easily without being greasy) and comes in a roll-on too.

  • I have completely cracked heels! The only thing that works is called baby feet and it’s a foot peel. You put your feet in these socks for 2 hours then within a week it all peels off and your feet are brand new.
Then I found heels balms kept them that way!
So if you have an occasion comin up you know you can have your feet looking new asap!

  • I use eucatol heal balm I think it’s called. I apply every night before bed and when u get up in the morning. It takes about 1-2 weeks but it clears it up beautifully

  • get pumice stone and rub your feet to exfoliate the skin or you can buy a ped-egg to do the same thing

  • file off dead skin and use eulactol gold heal balm. Or see a podiatrist to help you get started.
