Hello!

I have a low core temp. Im normally around 35-35.5. Because of this I feel temp changes more then others so on colder days, im not really bothered, but warmer days I really feel it. So if I’m sick, 38+•c is like 40•c, my daughter is the same.
So, today it was 22•c inside and 26 outside. Im sweating and have the fans on 3 witch is low. My partner comes home winges its cold inside and turns the fans off and closes th windows as “th cold air is setting in” here I am, feeling like I’m sitting in my own juices in a singlet and shorts. Like really, if he is cold cant he out a jumper on cause I can’t exactly cool down naturelly. How would u approach this. I find im always the one to cave

  • You both need to agree on a temperature that works for you both.l know because l have been there.Good Luck!

  • Write him a letter so you can objectively outline why you need them on. He could always put on a jumper

  • I think we all can relate to some extend as we’re all different. My husband and I have different opinions about heaters and open/closed window and open/closed curtains too. But as different as we can be I think some things are important;
    *listen to each others opinion
    *willingness to compromise
    *approach it with humor
    *do as you please on the moment your partner is not there and enjoy those moments
    *be creative, what can you do yourself ? (dress down, fill a spray bottle with cold water as spray away, place your feet in a bucket with icy cold water, place a fan in front of you, etc)

  • Well, ideally you need to compromise, but it doesn’t sound like you’re having much luck with this. Have you explicitly explained the problem to him? Can you warm/cool just one or two rooms to meet your needs and leave him in another?

  • I lived with someone who was was terrible to live with me freezing and him turning the heater off and in summer wouldn’t let me have the aircon on and I cried many times over it, and I couldn’t take the crap any longer and left and if your partner is not caring enough about your suffering then I would find a better place for your daughter and you to live as he won’t change.

  • Stop caving and put the air con back on!

  • Have an agreed temp and don’t change it. Uncomfortable one can rug up or strip off.

  • Ah I think we all will experience similar issues, we’re all different. Whilst I can become really cold, I’m the first who’ll put on warm socks a jumper or a poncho. However when it only gets a bit chilly my husband puts the heater on 31C and it gets stinky hot…I hate it ! We differ opinions about the bedroom window; I love everything wide open (no matter the temperature) and my husband likes all windows closed.

  • You need to compromose….set it in between ???? sorry cant help you as we are not using aircon a lot

  • I too suffer with temp fluctuations this I always end up putting and extra jumper on and socks.

  • I have the same issue in my family but the other way around. I feel the cold and love the heat. I often find myself freezing when the rest of my family are very comfortable with the aircon or fan going. I just put on a jumper or jump under a blanket on the couch and ignore them telling me I’m crazy and that it not cold. I think your partner needs to have a little more consideration for you and your daughters needs and maybe put a jumper on too :)
