Hello!

Hi I have stared taking pregnancy vitamins and I wanted to know what people recommend to take? I find these things huge and I suffer reflux and I am having trouble taking them. Does anyone know of any that are small or work better with reflux?

  • I took elevit. I hate taking vitamins ect because I have difficulty swallowing them. I found these ones were okay. I took them with orange juice.

  • I use fabfol and swear by them , they aren’t small but they could be cut smaller

  • Discuss with your GP, and I would take more fruits and veggies that I know are good and no fear of nasty.

  • Definetly speak to your GP or pharmacists and see what they recommend. I took elevit but it was making me really constipated so I stated taking folic acid and iron on their own.

  • Discuss it with your doctor but I used Elevit.
They were large & quite expensive but came highly recommended & I only wanted the best.

  • I took Blackmores. You are right they are huge. The pharmacist will be able to tell you if you are able to buy smaller tablets or if you can crush them. Don’t forget folate tablets.

  • I took either Blackmores or Swisse, depending on the price. Have never had any problems with Swisse, with any of their vitamins, so I preferred them. :)

  • I would discuss with your GP and pharmacist.

  • I would talk to your GP first but I took 2 of the Blackmores Pregnancy Gold Vitamins and I took 1 of the Blackmores Pregnancy Iron Tablets Daily.

  • Elevit. Break in half – have 1/2 in morning and 1/2 at night. I had severe morning sickness in took 1/2 when I was able and 1/2 before bed

  • Talk to your health professional to see if you really need them. You should definitely take folic acid for the first trimester, but as for multivitamins, you probably don’t need them. A lot of people seem to have terrible morning sickness which stops as soon as they stop taking these vitamins…seems like too much in one go! Just try and eat well, plenty of fruit and veges and you should be fine. Good luck.

  • Before you take anything run it past your gp he will advice what you need and whats best for you.

  • i take the blackmores gold pregnancy vitamins – i took them with first pregnancy and again now with current pregnany. I don’t know if there are any that are easier to take dealing with reflux, however I’m sure if you ask a chemist they may be able to help out.
