Our local pcyc is brilliant. Lots of equipment and work out classes. $20 a fortnight and I can go as often or as little as I like and they have childcare!
Depends on what you need. If you have young children and want to go when you partner is at work, you will need a gym with a creche. Most gyms are 24hrs now but some allow you to pay less to go only during staffed hours. There are gyms that don’t have classes just cardio and weights equipment which is ok if are self motivated to do it yourself. Classes give you motivation and variety. Some gyms have a nutritional program as well if you need help with your eating. So think about what you need and go and check out the gyms around where you live.
I would go to the gyms in your area and be shown around them. Ask for their prices for their memberships and joining fees, then compare. Also look at their group classes and see if they work in with your weekly schedule. There’s no point going to a gym that has nothing for you when you want to attend. Don’t forget to look at the crèche and find out what they charge. I personally attend Virgin Active after many years at fitness first. Could not be happier with the amenities, group classes and staff. Good luck, gyms are great when you find one you love.
Cheapest is a walk around your neighbourhood. You can go anytime. Some councils have playgrounds with equipment you can use. Ask at your local RSL or Club or Community Hall might have a program you will enjoy.
