  • How did you go with the rainbow theme?

  • yeah there are many great ideas here. balloons, streamers, confetti or glitter on tables. it would look great!

  • Different coloured streamers attached to the end of balloons, smarties in a bag labeled ‘rainbow seeds’, rainbow water paint as favors, different coloured fruit platter, rainbow popcorn, cupcake decorating, rainbow fruit loop bars (on pinterest)

  • I made rainbow jelly for my sons birthday – you get some clear cups and then make up say strawberry jelly and pour it into the cups, let that set then poor on top the next jelly ie lemon etc and keep building it up as much as you want. Other than that cookies with rainbow m&ms are always cool.

  • This is a great idea for a party and the others have provided some great ideas. Thanks for sharing!

  • My friend just had this theme for her girls birthday.
She had a rainbow layered cake (butter cake with food colouring?
    Fresh fruit sticks.
Lollies – nerds, rainbow coloured sour straps, m&ms
    Fairy bread

  • Fairy bread. Cupcakes with multi coloured icing. A rainbow cake (where it’s all different colours on the inside) My little ponies. Basically, anything and everything that’s bright and colourful

  • **Jellybeano** I think I used M & M’s for the rainbow as they had the correct amount of colours needed to make it work. Another idea is make iced cup cakes & let the kids decorate their own rainbows.

  • love the cake idea!! no more spending 2 to 3 hours on it only to be disappointed that it didn’t turn out like the picture

  • I did a easy rainbow cake or my granddaughter who loved the rainbow theme. 1 bought caramel mudcake from Woolworths decorated with smarties to form a rainbow. Too easy!

  • For party favours you could buy a little paint set and add a paintbrush. Party food – fruit cups with all different coloured fruit, make jelly cups with all the colours of the rainbow (once one colour is nearly set add the next and so on), rainbow marshmallow pops (put a lolly stick into a marshmallow dip in white melted chocolate and the dip in sprinkles). Good luck!!

  • Love that idea, cheap but effective. Thanks for sharing I have never heard of doing this before

  • Buy some cheap vases and add coloured water to each one and then add a balloon on a stick the same colour as the water. We did this for my daughers 2nd birthday and it looked amazing! We did red, pink, orange, yellow, green and blue.

  • Thanks ladies love these ideas!

  • For easy rainbow cake mix i usually get 2 orange cake mix boxes and make up as instucted, i then divide it into 5 seperate bowls, i put blue food dye in one, pink in another, green, and yellow and leave one as is, i then take a large spoon full out of each bowl and put in cake tin and keep going once all colours are in bake as instructions say to. My kids love it and its cheap and easy to do.
You could try pin the pot of gold on the rainbow. (you might just have to make you own up)

  • Here an idea for rainbow cake. http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/27699/layered+rainbow+cake
    I find them very cute!

  • Check for rainbow cakes and rainbow cookies in Internet. You could let the kids make their own salt dough rainbow! http://www.learning4kids.net/2014/01/19/make-your-own-salt-dough-rainbow/
I hope it will take the link

  • The layered rainbow cake for sure! There are different recipes in Internet. This one for example http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/27699/layered+rainbow+cake
I saw some cute rainbow cookies too.
As activities you could let the kids make a rainbow! http://www.learning4kids.net/2014/01/19/make-your-own-salt-dough-rainbow/
I hope you like the idea!
