Hello!

Would love to save energy with an air fryer but always get confused by what the best type would be for a family of 4 adult sized meals.

  • I just have one from Kmart and think it’s ideal for things like sweet potato chips, jacket potato, onion rings, roasted onions, roasted beetroot and so on

  • I have the tiny Philips one that has the single draw. My mum has a Kmart one with the trays and can be an oven at the same time. Personally I proffer the single drawer one and you can get them in bigger sizes and I find the accessories very useful for this one.

  • Love our air fryer we have 2 the basket style and the oven style, basket style seems to cook quicker and more even.
Oven is good for larger amounts of food as it has 3 shelves.
Overall we prefer our basket Kmart style, easy to use and kids are confident to cook there food with minimal assistance

  • we got a Philips XL with one large drawer and love it. Can fit a whole roast pork/chicken etc in it but also able to easily to a serve of say chips and nuggets if the little one needs a quick meal or lunch. It’s also good for sides instead of using the oven, like if I want to roast potatoes I do it in the airfyer. There are also a lot of facebook groups with some very clever people who are more daring than me in how they use the airfryer! I don’t think you’ll regret it. We originally bought ours as our previous rental’s oven was terrible at retaining heat so costing us a fortune and lots of time when we used it. We definitely noticed a drop in costs when we started using the airfryer instead. Get an idea of sale cycles and what the lowest price is you’ve seen once you’ve decided on a model and go for it.

  • We have an Aldi air fryer, but honestly never use it. Much prefer the oven.

  • You can make heaps of meals in an airfryer and they would be way healthier too. We use ours for roast pork, roast veg, even making cakes!

  • I love mine. I’ve got two drawer one from jb hifi. Fabulous

  • I find them ok. Mostly get used for less healthy snacks like wedges, chips etc. Chicken tenders and crumbed fish. Good for reheating pizza etc. But the dish isn’t that wide for things like pizza and I find wedges don’t get too evenly cooked. Hit and miss.

  • We use our all the time, good for a quick lunch or Dinner. Tip for cleaning, fill with water and dishwashing liquid and put on airfry for 20mins and then just wipe out.

  • I have a Philips air fryer. It’s great for doing pizza, hot chips etc. I have a large oven so this comes in handy when I only want to cook something small and not waste power. I dismantle mine and clean it in the dish washer.

  • It’s amazing. Usually use for chips /potato gems/nuggets – so quick to cook in it without heating whole oven.
I’ve also used to cook lamb cutlets or a whole chicken

  • I would love one also but have heard they are very difficult to clean.

  • The biggest one possible!
We use ours for everything because our oven broke. It heats up quickier and the food is crispier. It just isnt big enough.

  • We got the Brevilla the Air Fryer Chef which is 5L – it is the pull out drawer type.
It sits on our bench and gets used most day/nights.
It’s definitely saved on oven use.

Last night we had chicken tenders and chips cooked in in. Even toasted our burger buns (grill setting).

It’s been used for grilling cheese on toast, spring rolls/meat pies/sausage rolls – most things that go into oven, can be used in air fryer I find but cooking time may vary (cooks faster!).

  • It is not my question, but the answers so far have been helpful, thank you!

  • OMG, these things are awesome. I was so skeptical of these thinking we are going to be adding to our kitchen junk pile but we use them to cook nuggets, chips (home made and store bought), pies, sausages, burger patties, chicken wings, muffins, garlic bread. There is just so much they can do!

  • Looking forward to the answers, looking at purchasing too.

  • I have a simple one from Kmart and are happy with it
