Hello!

I have an 8 month old baby who seems to vomit when I give her banana. I already have a doctor apt in two weeks but I am just wondering if anyone else ever had a problem with their bubs eating banana and did it go away or did they become allergic to it? Could my baby be allergic to banana?

  • Its most likely an intolerance not an allergy

  • Have you tried eliminating banana for a couple of weeks then reintroducing it? Is a good way to confirm if it’s the banana. If it was an allergy, I think she would have more symptoms than just vomiting, such as a rash, difficulty breathing. Fingers crossed your art appt solves things

  • Would love to hear how you go on with this

  • It can make their stomach a bit acidy and cause a bit of discomfort and vomiting. It happens to my bub with bananna too, she’ll sometime have a bright yellow vomit after eating it

  • best get him checked .

  • What did you find out at the doctors appointment?

  • how did you go? :)

  • Did you find out if they were allergic?

  • Mine just won’t eat banana but I didn’t think it was a high allergen risk

  • how did the doctors apt go?

  • Did you find out wether your baby is allergic or not?

  • I would hold off giving bub any banana until your appointment.

  • Better to be safe than sorry by having them checked out.

  • It is quite possible she could be allergic to bananas, but also she may grow out of it over time.

  • Allergies are usually shown by redness, rashes and itchiness. Are you mashing it? If she can’t digest it yet I would leave it for a little while then try banana again later.

  • how did you end up going?

  • I am allergic to bananas, but they just make my mouth itchy. Bananas are supposed to be quite easy on the stomach so I’d be surprised if they were making her vomiting. The only thing to do is some controlled testing to see if the vomiting stops and/or to take her to a doctor/allergist. Good luck!

  • definitely could be allergic. the other thing it could be is the texture of the banana. id say eliminate banana from diet and see if the vomitting stops.

  • Check with your doctor on your next visit

  • could be. My SIL is allergic to banana..
