i started with a cup that had two handles and taught my child that way. Each child is different though and will pick things up at different times but my advice would be to try a variety of different things and make it fun like another mum mentioned in their comment below.

To help my toddler lean I used a plastic cup and paper straws and made it a bit of a fun game for us to practise and learn. It didn’t take long for him to understand what was happening. His first straw sippy cup was a b.box sippy cup with the weighted straw

I believe I didn’t even start with a straw cup but had this funny looking diagonal cup for my eldest two. I believe it was the Doidy cup. In regards to straw cups, cups and brands come and go and it’s a matter of trying what works best for your baby. Any baby training straw cup could be a good option.
