Hello!

My son is almost 7, and still wets the bed basically every night. Are there any help services for this in Brisbane? Preferably in the south? Washing the sheets and bedding every day is getting rather annoying (not that I let on to him that it is) and he’s getting very annoyed with himself. Please help. Do you have any bed wetting advice for this mum?

  • My brother was a bed wetter well past the age of seven. When it was suggested mum try a bed wetting alarm, she bought one and it worked immediately. By the end of the first week my brother stopped wetting the bed.

  • I hope you were able to get it sorted

  • Some good advice on here – what did you decide to do? I worked in a youth refuge with a 14 yr old who was in state care and he used to wet the bed – for him it was linked to anxiety and previous trauma. He was getting medical assistance.

  • there are some good comments here

  • How is he going now?

  • I hope something has helped :)

  • Seems to be a common problem with little boys – did you find something that worked?

  • Any of the advice below helped?

  • I hope you have found a solution by now

  • being every night is a concern, go see the doctor I think.

  • I would suggest seeing a GP as well. I know a friend of my daughters, who is 8, was commenced on some kind of medication to try to help.

  • I’d ask the GP &see a paediatrician. They would know the most about it.

  • Did you get it sorted?

  • There are services. Google it and also there is a company that gives out bed wetting kits on the Internet which they post out and they have a DVD included

  • He is 7 and could be gettin difficult from your end. Go see your doctor. I think 7 is an age where this shouldnt be happening. Maybe limit his liquid intake

  • I’d take him to the doctor, and in the meantime put him in pull ups or dry nights to save your sanity ;) I know how annoying it can be to have to wash sheets every day!

  • Maybe try some night time pants… Not too restrictive, but saves the sheets. Often bed wetting is related to anxiety, but can also just be a case of deep sleeping. See your GP for the next step

  • My daughters friends sister wet the bed every night also. Her mum took her to the Gp and they found she had type 1 diabetes. This may not be the case with your boy but I’d go to the gp to make sure and they may have something that can help.

  • go to your go and see what they have to say, although most kids grow out of it, it may be a case that its taking a little longer in your case.

  • My middle son was wetting the bed till he was 8yrs old and it does get annoying. I bought him the dry night pants and they were good as it sort of stopped him once he started wearing them. and the sheets didn’t get wet..
