Hello!

Any recommendations on best type/ brand of baby carriers? I think I will be using it quite a lot when my second child comes along in a few months.

  • Some baby carriers don’t support baby’s hips and keep their legs in the correct position. It can result in hip dysplaysia which could result in surgery or intense physiotherapy.
Some paeaditricians recommend Ergo. There is various types. Some have washable inserts and head supports for newborns / small babies. A friend of mine used one until her baby got too big for it, then passed it onto a friend. I believe to was passed onto another family. They are quite easy to clean.

  • ergo baby is suppose to be great

  • Manduca by far

  • Ergo!!

  • Ergo!!! My is still going 5 12 years later with our suprise third baby. :)

  • Tula. Far more comfortable that the Ergo or Baby Bjorn.

  • I’m in love with my hug-a-bub …. its basically one long piece of fabric that you wrap. At first it looks complex but they have great instructional dvds on their website and with a little practice you will love it and bub will too. Its super easy to clean too, chuck it in the wash and dryer. It folds up to be the size of say a jumper in your bag. Its Australian made and been around for many years. Its also less expensive than the other carriers :) all the best for your new bundle :)

  • Woven wraps

  • Ergo

  • Love my Ergo. My LO is 2 1/2 & I still put him on my back in it.

  • Ergo

  • Manduca has great reviews but it hurt my back and didn’t fit bub very well. Went to a bondolino and never looked back! I’d also get a woven wrap because they are the most comfortable if I knew I’d learn the wraps; but I’d probably never get round to it.

  • This is interesting. My youngest is 5 and I carried him in a babybjorn for almost a year from birth – he is perfect and hips are perfect. Funny how things can change in only 5 years…

  • Strider lol

  • Find your local baby wearing group – they may have a library, or may let you try their carriers so you can compare. There is also an Aussie baby wearing buy swap sell group that has tons of info!

  • Manduca or Ergo

  • Ergo. I gave up my baby bjorn, couldn’t last more than 10 mins. But I can wear my big 11 month old boy for HOURS in the Ergo.

  • Ergo

  • Ergo all the way. So many options! Also new born insert protects your bub 0-4 months from over abducting their hips and helps prevent hip problem later in life

  • Hug a bub wrap , so versatile and easy to use and great back support !
