Hello!

My hair has become so dry and brittle. I have used a few different shampoos and conditioners but they have seem to made my hair worse. Is there any good ones out there I am so sick of wasting my money on these shampoos.

  • May I suggest you try olive oil? Rub through your hair, let it sit for as long as possible then wash as normal. Once a week maybe. Hope you notice an improvement

  • BTW I have dry and brittle hair and prefer not to use shampoo, just rinse my hair with water and massage the scalp after which a use a conditioner. Also refrain from using too hot water as it strips the natural oils out of your hair

  • I use head and shoulders and its been great

  • I see this post is from a few months back. How is your hair going now, Mumma? I’ve found washing my hair less has helped mine. It became quite thin and brittle post baby. I use to wash every other day, and now only wash it every 5 to 7 days now. I use a leave in conditioner/curl cream from Priceline after washing that seems to help, too. The brand is Cake, and they make other products other than curl cream if you’re not curly. Good fats in your diet will also help with hair condition. You can also take Spirulina capsules. It’s supposed to help with hair growth. Hope that helps!

  • Start by washing your hair less. I know it sounds yukky, but I had the same issue until I changed to washing my hair every 2 weeks. I didn’t change brands of shampoo either..

  • Also garniers watermelon hair care is a beautiful range to.

  • Firstly I suggested getting a trim and buy a shampoo containing biotin (vitamin b5)
Wash your hair every other day as washing hair to much can strip natural oils
Don’t wrap your hair in a towel jjust pat dry
Don’t uses heated appliances to much either
Take a hair nail and skin vitamin
Give your hair a good hair mask every month or six weeks

  • I go between a few different brands but use a hair treatment instead of conditioner and it makes a huge difference to my curly hair. I find the Schwarzkopf Professional range to be really good.

  • I like the Tresemme range of hair shampoos and conditioners. I find they leave my hair clean and hydrated.

  • I slather olive oil on my hair, leave in for about an hour then wash it out. Really helps rehydrate

  • I have been using the Virtue smooth shampoo + conditioner for over a year now and it has really transformed my hair. My hair is soft and nourished. I do use conditioning masks (Virtue make a great one) but I feel like the shampoo and conditioner is what makes a great base to be able to transform my hair.

  • I buy Moo value packs and when their products are on special.

  • I use Moo Goo products on my hair and they are very gentle on my scalp and hair.

Cut down on heat styling. …
    Cut split ends. …
    Use essential oils. …
    Wear a hat. …
    Try coconut oil.

  • I think S&C is treating the symptoms and just one perspective, also think about considering why its brittle and dry. Is your hair exposed to chemicals (regularly swimming with chlorine)? Any dietary factors or changes? Could it be hormonal? Stress? My hair starting going dry and I found that I had quite a few imbalances in my body, and treating those has improved my hair immensely. Absolutely consider S&C as one perspective but I’d recommend looking at the source as well. I use Nioxin as I wanted more body, but also found Bondi Boost was pretty good. Good luck!

  • treseme has always seemed to be effective and budget friendly.

  • I do a monthly olive oil soak. Slather it on my hair and leave for 10 or so minutes and wash out
