Yeah i agree with some of the other answers here to double check with your gp or ivf team incase your needed to have a higher dosage of something. For eg some mothers are low in iron and may need extra than what the regular prenatals have so just double check with your gp
I started taking Elevit but after my Obstetrician told me that all pregnancy vitamins are basically the same, I just swapped to whatever was available. I chose based on the size of the tablet and how many I had to take a day and the price.
We were recommended elevit by our fertility specialist. So took that since before getting pregnant (Ivf also). It can play havoc with your bowels though.
I know one very important vitamin to take in addition to a prenatal multivitamin is Folic acid. Folic Acid 1mg twice a day while trying to get pregnant can prevent birth defects, especially in woman over 30.
I used ‘Blackmores conceive well gold’ for about 3 months before I started trying! I fell pregnant within the first 1-2 months with both my daughters (everyone is different of course) ! Good luck with your IVF x
I used Elevit but your fertility specialist will advise which ones are the better ones to take, they will also advise the man to take one too, Elevit does one for men.
Blackmores pregnancy and breast feeding Gold is the one I took with all 3 of my children and Fefol for folic acid and iron. Check with your doctor as some of us are low in Vitamin D too and it’s worth knowing about (especially likely over Winter)
If you follow a good balanced diet , you should not require Vitamin supplements , I would suggest the best people to talk to are the IVF team . they are the experts , best wishes .
I was taking elevit but definately worth speaking to your dr.
There is also a gene that they can test you for where your body does not absorb folic acid and you need to take different Vitamins.
I have used elevit but there are many to choose from on the market, and when you have your blood test when pregnant your doctor will tell you if you are lacking in any vitamins. I would check with your doctor to see if there are ones matched to your needs on the market.
