Hello!

I’m so sick of having to change our pillows constantly because they loose there shape and even though I keep changing the brand or type, nothing seems to work. I was after some advise about good pillows for adults and children 5 and over and where I might be able to purchase them at a reasonable price. Thanks in advance

  • You can’t go past a Dunlopillo for quality, but they are expensive. We have had ours for a while though, and they are still great.

  • My husband loves feather/down pillows.

  • I have a Dunlopillo which is memory foam and a low profile. I really love it because it does keep it’s shape and really has helped with my sore neck. I have had it for nearly 2 years and no problems. They are a bit pricey but I did a Google search and found a really good deal on Deal Direct, but evay have them and others sites too. It’s worth researching before you buy for a good price.

  • I find feather pillows last the longest and are really comfortable, you can get them from target quite cheap but they last. you can also get more expensive ones at pillow talk and such.

  • Mine is a Tempur pillow. It was expensive but I love it. It is low profile but still supportive without being too soft or too hard, and is not bulky. I also bought the waterproof pillow protectors so that it will last longer.

  • Buckwheat pillow. Since first buying one about 20 years ago I have always stuck with them, I cant sleep on any other pillow now. When my son went from the cot to his bed I bought him one and he loves it.

  • I have always used Tontine and find they hold their shape.

  • A few weeks ago I went to a Myer sale and for the first time bought a memory foam pillow which they say will last a long time . I can’t remember the brand , but go to the pillows section and I was very overwhelmed with choice as I had no idea there was so many types of pillow. The normal feather ones always clump and stain after a while even with pillow protectors so maybe those ones will be good for you .

  • I enjoy feather pillows (any brand) and also a memory foam. I have a hard and a soft memory foam pillow and use for different situations, depending what is hurting!. The feather pillow is light and soft and great for general nights, and also acts as a good noise block if needed!

  • We have Tontine and they are great and you can chose which firmness you like and we also have duck feather which is very soft and lovely!

  • Oh this is indeed a real problem with many a folk…pillows should be replaced regularly as oil, dead skin etc build up and create a nasty environment.
Saying all this I have found Latex pillows to be the healthier option and they can be purchased from stores like Target , Kmart, pillow talk etc. at a reasonable price and they last longer.
Latex is anti microbial and dust resistant. Although latex is quite naturally breathable, most manufacturers of these pillows make them with perforations in the material. This is to allow air circulation, and to encourage them to breathe. This prevents a buildup of moisture and heat in the pillow. Best of luck with your choice.

  • I have been buying Target pillows at between $10 and $12 and throwing out my old ones every six months or so. Have bought very expensive ones, but they all end up tangled as the kids bend them in two or three to get extra height to watch TV or whatever and the creases in the filling stays there permanently. So rather than buy pillows for $180 to $200 each time, I have resorted to this.
