Hello!

I’m after wheat hearts. The brand used to be Pro Vita Weatharts (yes that is the correct spelling off an old label I have in front of me).

  • Add 1 Tablespoon of wheat germ to every 3 tablespoons of cream if wheat ir farina. Tastes exactly like the wheat hearts cereal we all miss,

  • I would try your local Health food store or order at iHerb ! Alternatively you could phone the producer.

  • I’ve never heard of these. I can only suggest my trusty friend Google.

  • I wish I knew, my daughter and I loved this product have tried everywhere????

  • I’ve never heard of wheat hearts. Had to come on here to see what they are.

  • Weat Harts were a product of Specialty Cereals P/L but after Kellogg bought them in 2008,Weat Harts seem to have been dropped – Weat Harts were around for a long time – my 80 yr old mother remembers them from her childhood; they were heat stabilised wheat germ, which is still produced by other companies.

  • Weatharts were made by Specialty Cereals P/L and stocked nationally by Coles up to around 2008;Kellogg bought the company in 2008 and Weatharts, which had used essentially the same packaging for many decades, seems to have been dropped from production.
Weatharts were heat stabilised wheat germ and other companies produce this product.

  • I have not used them but l would try a health food shop!

  • I’ve never heard of them. Hope you find them. Hope they haven’t disappeared :(

  • My Dad used to love these… he doesn’t have them any more So I’m assuming that they don’t make them now :(

  • thanks June11 I will have to see if pro vita exist probably not these days.

  • Is Pro Vita also the Company Name? How old do you think the packet is? There is so many companies have merged or bought each other out that some of the companies/brnad names no longer exist.
e.g. there used to be 3 separate biscuit companies – Arnotts, Motteram, Menz. They became one company. Later the biscuit section became Arnotts Biscuits and the confectionery section became Robern Menz. Cadbury Chocolates and Schweppes Drinks became known as Cadbury Schweppes.
I recently asked Nestle for a list of their gluten free products. I didn’t expect to see Allens or Lifesavers confectionery on it. Lifesavers used to be a separate company.
I am not sure about Allens. Rowntrees and Hoadleys merged. I don’t know if either of those brand names even exist now. Carnation Milk was taken over by Nestle.

  • Thanks for all your answers to my question.

  • Thanks for all of your advice.

  • I guess it is off to the health food shop if Super IGA cant deliver! Thanks for all your help ladies.

  • Is that a cereal? If not I’d be trying a health food shop or the 2brothers food website.

  • Unfortunately Kelloggs phased out Cerevites which is the only wheat germ I knew of sold at supermarkets, I’ve been recommend wheatberries by my dietitian (apparently it’s the whole kernel, not just the germ) but I havent tried them (you can buy them online or at a good health food store) =)
