Hello!

I have a second on the way and a two-year-old. I’m contemplating whether to hire a capsule or not. I never had one with the first and used the baby carrier ALOT. I’m wondering whether to just use the carrier again especially with the toddler running around.

  • If you have a pram that can hold a capsule, and it won’t cost a bundle, then yes. If not it’s easy enough to go without. Unless you think it will be a huge help as you already have a little one to keep an eye out for.

  • I think save the money and just get a car seat

  • I used a capsule for all three of mine. They’re great if you have the adaptors for your pram. They can also be convenient if bubs is sleeping and you can carry them into kinder/school or even into the shops and put them in the bottom of a trolley. They do get get heavy though and bubs can grow out of them quickly

  • Don’t bother – my babies only used them for about 3 months before they hated it – get a car seat that goes backwards instead.

  • If you hire it and don’t like it or use it you can always take it back.

  • Never had a capsule…I didn’t bother ad they grow out of it too quickly

  • If you are talking about car capsule, yes, hire one, I have heard people say they didn’t use one for the first but did for the second as it was easier to use that to clip in the car or pram, in the early days, especially when they had a toddler.

  • If you mean a car capsule, yes, hire one. You legally need one. A pram or carrier (as you seem to have) are perfectly fine for non-car use.

  • I’ve never had a capsule but if you can reuse the one you have then that saves you money which you can use for something else!

  • I never had a capsule with any of my 3 kids. I loved using the carrier with a toddler because it leaves your arms free. A double pram was also handy, with the seat in front and baby lying down behind.

  • I never used a capsule. We had no issues

  • I LOVED the capsule for our first child, and did like it for our second. That being said, we used it when both my partner and I were both with the kids, so he could carry the capsule and I could push the pram.

  • I’m in a similar boat but realised I want to get my child used to resettling after transitioning out of the car. And we already have a second car seat so will just use that

  • We didn’t have it with any of our kids.

  • We loved our capsule. It really helped when getting more than one child ready, it meant I could put my child in the capsule and do the final last bits for school drop off and by the time we were in the car my newborn was asleep and warm. It also meant I didn’t have to wake them when arriving at school to walk my child in.
