Hello!

Where is a good cheap place to go on holiday with 3 children under 4? We don’t have a lot of cash but a little holiday would be great for everyone.

  • Some great comments. We usually hire a cabin at a big 4 as there is lots to do for the kids. Bbqs are cheap for meals too or they have kitchens to cook what you need

  • If you’re that pushed for money, why not pitch a tent in your backyard? Kids usually have fun with that. It doesn’t cost much and if it rains or you get sick of it, you don’t have far to go to get home again

  • I once went on a horseriding weekend where food, accommodation was all included. It was very basic and very cheap. Unfortunately not for small children though.

  • Doesn’t matter what you do as long as you spend time with them. Seaside is always good with kids.

  • Camping is always cheap and fun and little kids love it.

  • Hunter Valley or Port Stephens.

  • there are some good comments here

  • Where have you decided to go?

  • Camping would be fun for all :)

  • I was going to suggest camping. The initial outlay us a bit but you can start basic and add to your kit over time – we do. Another option might be house swapping? Good luck!

  • we’re planning a camping trip and I’m finding its saves money

  • what did you end up deciding on

  • Caravan parks often have great prices on cabins which cater for families and means you can save on food costs by bringing your own and cooking. Also don’t feel you need to travel too far as often an hour away is fine if there is a lot to do.

  • Some really good ideas below.

  • Camping is great fun look at big 4 holiday parks.

  • Camping is cheap but getting the equipment can be costly.

  • id suggest a caravan park in a text for a few days if the weather is good

  • Depends where you are.
There is a brilliant hotel that caters perfectly for children on The Gold Coast and its located in Surfers paradise.

If you can travel before school ends then you might be able to get a good rate so phone around or email places asking for quotes.

Caravan parks are good but sometimes i have found that the cabins can get a little expensive.

Depending on how long you want away you could look into renting a house. If you are looking at a week then odds on if you find a holiday rental house it will work out much cheaper and you have more space to spread out. Google holiday home rentals in the area you wish to holiday in.

  • I’d go to a caravan park and stay in one of the cabins (great if you have really little ones) a tent is good when they are a little older. (less stress if the weather is bad)

  • Big 4 with jumping pillow!
