Hello!

I’m wondering what gifts you’d recommend a 1 year old for Christmas?

  • Ball pit, ride on toy or tricycle, activity centre are all some things my kids loved at that age

  • Some kids musical instruments or those ride on things. Even a cheap ball pit from kmart!
My kids loved them when they were that age.

  • A paddling pool, a cubby house, a sand/water table, a trike, or ride on car etc, educational toys, or books are always a winner :)

  • There are lots of fun and educational toys and games available. I loft the soft books made from material with lots of interactive and fine motor activity. Also loved those large foam blocks for climbing

  • My son got a toy laptop and it was great as it entertained him while the rest of us were opening our presents. Yes the song was kind of annoying, but not as annoying as a 1 year old can be! That was the only thing we got him.

  • A really nice picture book or sensory book

  • I’m thinking of getting mine a walker bike and some outdoor toys.

  • Buying for a one year old is so easy. There are so many fun and educational games out there. I would also add some clothes, kids always need clothes

  • A cubby house would be a great present.

  • I would go with books, ones that you need to spot the … kind of like where’s Wally. My daughter loves those kinds of books

  • If you have the money a smart trike is a great investment. I found the my kids liked to sit in it for longer and much more than they did a pram. It’s kind of half bike and half pram. At 1 they are generally starting to walk so items that encourage being active like balls and walk alongs make fun educational pressies too.

  • In my previous post I said depending on the gender, but really both can play with cars and trucks, I meant depends on the childs interests :)
My son got this scout dog from his grandparents for his first Christmas and he LOVES it :) sings, education, and its personalised to say your childs name and a few other things.

  • Educational toys suitable for that age/development, books, play tent, ride on car/bike, puzzles, clothes, depending on the child’s sex but my one year old loves playing with cars and trucks. My list could go on, just depends what you already have, what you think they will actually use/need.

  • Books are nice but this age will not remember the gift or Christmas or their 1st birthday. They are too young. So dont stress. Being there is more important than gifts.

  • A name puzzle would be nice! We got one for our daughter for her first Christmas. She liked to look at the colours, and now that she’s older she loves puzzles so it’s always had some use.

  • Books are always a good present but to be honest at 1 year old they don’t really understand it at all, so my suggestion would be something practical and not too expensive

  • The good thing about a first birthday is that a present does not need to be expensive. It will come later so maybe save some of that money for later birthday wish lists!

  • I would buy something personalized, for example a Christmas bauble with written on it “My first Christmas’

  • A shopping trip to a toy store and checking out the aisle for this age might be helpful. I like to check out the toys and books and see how durable and interactive they are for the long term.

  • Interactive books make the best Christmas present for a one year old, they can touch and feel. But also they will still enjoy the book when they’re 4!
