Hello!

How to get the grime off the tray bars?? I’ve seen shiny results in magazines but mine so hard to get off. Or the way I’m doing it with oven cleaner not enough. I’m chipping off baked on bits with a knife. It’s messy and annoying.

  • I find Jex Enviro Dry and Soapy Pads work quite well, but more than anything I think a wipe down after every oven use is very helpful

  • I love the ozclean oven cleaner. Let the racks soak in it overnight and it washes right off. Buy 2 boxes if your racks are large.

  • I soak mine in laundry tub in pumped out water from my washing machine. I leave for as long as possible…in my case several days as i live alone and don’t need tub often. I find that then I can just wipe down with an abrasive scourer and most of it goes. The rest usually goes with a harder rub.

  • Thanks for your question as l have the same problem, now fixed!!!

  • Take them out, lay them on newspaper and then spray them with oven cleaner. Leave. Then wash clean. Any remaining stain can be removed with steel wool.

  • Ozkleen oven power is amazing. Overnight for racks

  • Spray with oven cleaner and then scrub if necessary.
Its good to clean(wipe) it after each use then is less work and always nice and clean.

  • I can’t remember what it’s called but there’s a product you can purchase from Woolworths. It’s a bag that you put the over trays in, leave them overnight and take them out rinse them off

  • Regular cleaning is effective in keeping trays/shelves shiny and clean.

  • Soak them overnight in the bathtub with laundry powder then rinse and wipe in the morning

  • A scourer and cleanser with a whole lot of scrubbing.

  • I sprinkle mine with baking soda and then vinegar. Once the foaming stops, I run hot water in the tub until it fully covers the racks and allow them to sit overnight.

  • We have a pyrolytic ovan which does the job for me now hehe. But u used to put on foil, spray with oven cleaner, wrap the foil around and leave for a few hours. Not a fan of all the chemicals tho as it used to give me a headache

  • I’ve been seeing people praise Koh

  • I use Koh for all my cleaning needs. It works exceptionally well on ovens.

  • You could also try by scraping a dishwashing tablet on it. First dip the tablet in hot water.

  • Try the aluminum foil trick (I was sceptical at first until I tried it!). Wrap the trays in aluminum foil and put a dishwasher tablet on top of each. Submerge the trays in the bath with hot water and leave overnight. In the morning take them out and give them a wipe – the black should come off quite easily! Good luck!!
