  • Thanks MoM169700, your information is very helpful.

  • Bali, Thailand or keep your money at home and help the local economy and head to Queensland, beautiful one day, perfect the next

  • We’ve been to 3 Club Med sites but haven’t been for over a decade now:
    Lindemann Island for our Honeymoon (now shut) was fantastic. It felt very European.
    Ria Bintan which is part of Indonesia but inhabited and frequented by people from Singapore & Aussies – a very safe location but just watch out for the monkeys in the trees by the beach. Probably more suitable for couples;
    Tahiti Moorea – at the time of our visit, it was very run down but I understand it went through a huge refurbishment. This is also more suitable for couples.
    However if you are wanting a Family Friendly site, look at Malaysia.
    What I love about Club Med is you know exactly how much $ you will spend on your holiday. Friends of mine took their kids to Lindemann when it was open and said the Kids Club was fantastic.

  • We have been to plenty of holiday park style holidays in Australia – most recently Wintersun in Carnarvon. Whilst they are great, we were looking into Club Med for other reasons. Would REALLY APPRECIATE input from anyone who has been to Club Med. thanks.

  • Unless you want high luxury there is some great Holiday Parks that have excellent fully self-contained holiday cabins and lots of childrens’ activities. I know there are quite a few in Qld. Coolwaters in Cairns has daily Turtle feeding as one of its activities. They have budget and luxury accomodation.

  • Are you sure club med is what you need for your holiday? It seems to be an expensive club …although you don’t have to pay annual maintenance fees on the resort unlike other holiday clubs. There are other clubs that look ok if you think you might want to go to a particular resort often enough to get the benefits of being a member.

    Or perhaps just put together your own adventure – choose a hotel and off you go anywhere! anytime and if you don’t like it go somewhere different next time.
