There is, unfortunately, no quick cure for the common cold, only ways to ease symptoms. I find lots of fluids definitely help. I rub Vicks on their feet and place socks over the top. Vicks inhalations are good too.
I find rubbing some eucybear rub on their feet before bed really helps with the cymptoms of colds at night. Also I have found not using Panadol for fever (unless its high of course) helps the cold run its course quicker. Cold as horrible for kids but they usually bounce back quickly.
Vitamin C. For adults and kids. When I see that we are starting to get a cold, we take a lot of vitamins (around 5-6 a day for adults, half for kids) and generally that’s enough to stop the cold.
My brother and his family swear by olive leaf extract. You can get it in a children’s formula. He just takes the extract, and there are also tablets. I’m going to try it for my kids this Winter.
My GP told me to include Vitamin C tablets in their diet during the winter months & to double the dosage when they showed signs of coughs & colds. I’m positive this worked for my 3 boys back then.
a bath with some essential oils that are good for the sinuses eg eucalyptus etc and if possible, good old chicken noodle soup as its proven to help clear the sinuses
