Hello!

With covid running rampant, lots of cases, many deaths, ruining the economy. Im curious to know if anyone actually knows someone who has tested positive or, sadly, died from it?

  • I know this is an old question now, but yes I do know a lot of people who have tested positive to covid now, it almost seems inevitable that everyone or at least most people will get it at some stage. Luckily I don’t know anyone who has been hospitalised or died from it and I really hope it stays that way as I do have some very vulnerable relatives, so it scares me a bit.

  • Not in Australia, but over in the UK my Uncle had it, my Auntie and my Nanna got diagnosed with it this week. They’ve all had varying degrees of symptoms. It’s rife over there

  • My friend and her husband and kids all tested positive. They are all fine the kids it didn’t affect as much my friend said it was like a bad flu
I have heard of a few other people having it but don’t know them personally
    I still think it’s a scam

  • My cousin and her family had it recently. They live in the US. She lost her sense of taste and smell and had a sore throat. Her husband had trouble with swollen neck glands. But they are in their 30’s and have recovered ok

  • I am a nurse in Melbourne and have worked with countless covid positive patients. Thankfully our numbers have finally gone down and our hospital is getting back to normal

  • Not close to me, but next door neighbour did and family of a friend of mine did

  • I also work in the healthcare sector and know no one that has had it.

  • My uncle in the uk had it, thankfully fully recovered. I have several friends working at a hospital with an outbreak, it’s scary

  • No, no one I personally know have been diagnosed positive – it’s such a horrific time for so many people …..

  • It is a scary time and i work in a setting that is currently having an outbreak not a good place to be in and had a testing done thankfully tested negative

  • I don’t…

  • There are lots of shared stories on social media about covid cases and some of these are heart breaking.

  • No I personally don’t know anyone who has or had it. However, friends and family of friends of mine have.

  • I’m in melbourne

My nieces friend got tested positive her dad and brought it home from work. But only person in melbourne I know.

However my cousins little boy in the UK who was 4 spent a week in hospital getting treatment after testing positive.

  • No not here.

  • Australia is in such a different position to other countries overseas. The numbers are starkly different.

  • I work in a hospital where there are cases but I don’t know anyone personally

  • No i dont know.

  • I don’t personally know anybody. I have a friend who is a RN in Emergency in a hospital in SA and they have been fortunate to only have 2 confirmed cases. One had already started to recover.
At one border control prior to testing 2 Police Officers (a married couple) tested positive. They were only on duty there for 2 days and have no idea which people they could have contracted it from.. They were tested a couple of days later. Fortunately it was during their rostered days off and they hadn’t contact with anybody else since they went off duty

  • Thankfully I don’t know anyone who has had COVID 19. I live in Qld and luckily it’s under control here at the moment. Hopefully it will remain that way.
