The whole family dynamics have changed from what they used to be. I think a lot of this has to do with more women being in the workforce in comparison. It should be expected that if both parents are working that both parents help with the children vs the days when the mother would raise the children and the father went to work.

I usually just say, hey babe, can you do this for me, please? He generally always happy to oblige.

Nope. I figured out early on that my partner was hopeless, so I never bothered asking for help. I plodded on by myself

I always ask for my hubby’s help, and he asks for mine, just a “Hey Honey, I need you” usually is enough to get either of us running to the other. We are both pretty accommodating of each other.
