Hello!

I see that there are recipes on this site that suggest using kale. I would LOVE to know what the alternative name for Kale is.

I have seen a lot of americans refer to kale, but i’m not sure what we refer to it as. It honestly just looks like that fancy lettuce that you can buy but the pics aren’t focused on the kale specifically.

I just also found out that arugula is called rocket here!

  • I only heard about Kale over a year ago and heard it is an extremely healthy vegie rich in antioxidants and even though it looks like spinach , it is much better for you . My brother buys a bunch and makes kale juice from it. What I want to know is can I stir fry Kale , just like how you can stirfry buk choy ? I have stirfried spinach and used it on omelettes etc, but can you cook kale like that .

  • Is Chard another name for Kale??

  • There are also different types of kale. Tuscan cabbage is a type of kale, though with longer and tougher dark green leaves.

  • Borecole I think.

  • I’ve seen it as Kale at my local market and shops. I’m in Sydney.
