Hello!

I was just wondering if people still wore masks when out and about like shopping and other places. I still wear a mask as I am Immune Compromised but I do get some funny looks now like why are you wearing that for?

  • I still wear them in certain locations. It’s a case by case decision.

  • I rarely wore them at the height of covid. They weren’t mandatory in Tasmania.

  • No I don’t wear a mask.

  • i do wear if i am on public transport. not for casual visits anymore.

  • If I’m around my dad I do, he’s also immuno-compromised. He and my mum still wear theirs every where and get a lot of looks/questions. Whatever keeps you safe, I say!

  • No, but I have had five vaccinations and even though I know I have been exposed to Covid, I have either not had it or have been asymptomatic.

  • If I feel sick I will wear mask,or I need to go hospital.

  • No, but if I see someone wearing one it doesn’t bother me. That’s their choice. If it protects you then keep doing it and don’t worry about other people’s opinions.

  • It depends where I am and the season. I have an autoimmune disease. So cold and flu season I definitely wear a mask EVERYWHERE.

At this time of year I gauge it on how I’m feeling (if I feel run down or am having a flare, I’ll wear a mask) and how crowded a place is, if i’m outside all that type of thing. If I feel it necessary I’ll wear a mask. Or if I go to place and they asl me to wear one I will.

As someone who is immunocompromised I will do what I have to keep myself and those around me healthy.

  • I still wear one to see the doctor or in crowded places!

  • No. I rarely wore them when they were mandated. Some places still require the wearing of masks, eg my GP, and I wear one then. That’s it

  • No. I’m a nurse and we’ve only recently stopped wearing them at work! (Unless we need to).

  • Hey I am also immune compromised. I don’t wear a mask anymore unless it’s required by the place I am at, as an example the psychologist office.

  • I wear a mask myself when I am unwell to protect others. It also depends on the location I am going, when there was the Influenza flare recently and I had to go to crowded areas I wore one, but don’t regularly.

  • I think the living in fear is pathetic, but thay is different for the immune compromised

  • I only wear a mask at the doctor’s now. I was at a hospital yesterday and they didn’t request that you wear one, they did have some available if you wanted one but at the Cancer Clinic I went to last week you still needed to wear one, which I had no problem doing but I do not wear one the rest of the time.

  • It depends on the situation. Yes at the doctor’s or unfortunately at the hospital. Yes on planes & public transport but no pretty much other times. Mostly I think it’s because there’s often no visual cues to pull it out and put it on.

  • Yes, sometimes. It depends on the venue, how crowded it is, and whether I’ve got a sniffle or something.

  • No, I don’t wear..but if you are pregnant that u should wear it. Let people give you stupid looks, never mind. Stay safe

  • I absolutely still wear a mask. Being pregnant I’ve been a little hyper vigilant to not wanting to get sick, but i feel covid has really made us all realise how many people cough and sneeze willy nilly in public with no regard to anyone else. I definitely agree that you get some funny looks, though. As if it’s crazy to want to avoid flu season. And the common cold aside, covid is still being caught and spread, and I’d really prefer not to catch either. I can barely breathe freely as it is.
