You can use salt for cleaning but I think bicarb of soda and plain white vinegar works better

I don’t have a dish washer, so I’m a bit jealous of your problem :/ My mother in law uses rock salt though. She just uses the stuff she buys in the supermarket, but you’re probably supposed to use the proper Harvey Norman stuff

My old dishwasher I used rock salt. Found it cheap in the reject shop or crazy Clark’s. My new one doesn’t use it though.

Can’t say I am really sure what the rock salt does? Any how bi-carb sprinkled on the bottom of the dishwasher between washes, cleans and freshens.

We don’t use rock salt for cleaning our dishwasher, bicarb of soda, white vinegar and a dash of eucalyptus oil keeps it clean and smelling nice.
