I joined Tripadvisor recently and posted my review. I enjoy reading other people’s reviews of hotels, sights etc.

I did post comments on Tripadvisor, however I couldn’t post a comment last time as they were asking to download the app first! However I do sometimes read Tripadvisor for accomodation and things to do in new places, very informative!

My daughter belongs to tripadvisor and we use the site alot when planning holidays. The reviews are great to read and you can usually get a good insight into a place.

I find the reviews can be helpful

Is is useful for local and overseas travel?

No but maybe will it for overseas travel in the future.

Yes, I use tripadvisor a lot to judge reviews especially if I’m looking for somewhere to stay or eat in a new place. Some reviews seem to be fake though at times so I would take whats being written with a grain of salt as often places that have really high reviews will not be that high in your opinion. The reviews are also often useful for getting tips on destinations and transportation to the sights.

I have been a member for many years. I like that most of the reviews are genuine however I posted a bad report for one place I had been and got redirected messages from the company through the site asking why (they don’t know who you are unless you use a real name) and suddenly they had a heap of good reviews so mine was way down the list. I do get a few emails from them but not too many it’s annoying. I heard you can do other stuff on there but I have only read and written reviews.
