  • Mainly sit them up especially when feeding. Don’t lay them down straight away after a feed. If it keeps up get medication from the dr

  • Haven’t had much experience with this. I would suggest a Dr or chemist visit for advice. Propping top half of body higher then lower will help

  • Hi, I read most babies have a form of reflux hence the ‘positing’ (milk spew). Most of the time it doesn’t bother them and I read most health professionals are reluctant to diagnose it. My babys breath smelt like acid on occasion. I found sitting her up after a feed and putting a towel under her mattress to prop her head up helped a little. As she got older the pharmacist said it was ok to give a small amount of mylanta (I cant remember if it was .5 or 1ml) .

  • gaviscon for sure. It’s not particularly pleasant but after 3/4 days his reflux was much better and we didn’t have to use it.

  • My advice is to find a good GP that specialises in child health. All babies have acid reflux as their oesophagus is not yet mature enough and is very relaxed. Studies have shown that there is no correlation between crying and periods of acid in babies, even with severe reflux and medication should not be given unless there are other symptoms such as blood in the vomit or failure to thrive. Babies gastrointestinal systems go through big changes around the 4 month mark which may make them very unsettled. The vomiting normally peaks at this time and then they start to settle.
Burp well, keep them upright during and after a feed if possible, Small frequent feeds also help.
