We use them for smaller frames/canvases – anything that we really value or has sentimental value is hung with proper hooks. We havent had any dramas with the 3M strips but it just more safeguarding for us. We always upsize the 3M strips to heavier than what we anticipate we are hanging again just to be on the safe side.

I’ve used no damage hanging strips, but my experience is that it does strip the paint from the walls

I’d love to know whether you decided to give these a go or not. We’ve used them for a few years and mostly have no trouble. I go for a larger size than needed just in case. The incidents we’ve had all involve extremely hot weather where they have let go on timber walling and on gyprock walling. Thankfully no damage to those items but it makes me think twice about what I hang up.

I used these all obe our house only because I wS sick of nagging and waiting for hubby .. Framed Pictures and even heavy clock are still hanging strong after 9 years highly recommend

I have found out now that my nephew uses 3M gear and hasn’t had any problems. He has hung up large heavy pictures using them. The cheap ones weren’t successful even for very light ones

use the correct size, spend the extra money and AVOID the cheap brands-VERY IMPORTANT! as the glue won’t hold, trust me i know! and lastly avoid hanging things where they will be affected by breezes. It got windy the other day and blew through my child’s room and hall and blew stuff off the walls, hooks and all (no damage to the actual wall though)

I use them and they are really good, they usually mention on the package what weight they can take. I like that you can remove them later without leaving a mark. I have only hung smaller things on them though

I have used 3M command strips before and so long as you use the right hook for your pictures it should be no problem. I have had one come unstuck after being up for about 2-3 years so probably look at replacing the sticky pads every few years for larger heavy pictures.. But smaller lighter pictures should be fine. Leaves no marks when you pull them off too..

I’ve used the large ones (check out the weight they hold and choose accordingly) to put up a mirror on the back of a door. One strip in each corner, leave overnight and it’s worked for us. Good Luck

Yes I use them and they normally work pretty good with no problems but I had a photo framed with glass and it fell off the wall and smashed after a few weeks so I would be very hesitant to put something up that was precious to you if it was breakable. The strips that you put up on the back of a poster and also on the back of the article may work better if you put lots extra on than is required for the weight of your object.

They are really handy to use. The packing will tell you how much weight they can hold.

Yes there great. We used them for a series of photo frames and also for our Christmas stockings we hung them next to our fire place.

Yes, follow the weight guide on the packet – there’s really clear weight and positioning instructions.

Please note that it’s not 100% guaranteed not to strip paint – so if that is a concern proceed with caution. I’ve pulled it off wrong and it pulled paint. My sister rents and had an issue with what must have been cheap paint because it came off. Maybe blowing hot air on it when removing them could work?

I am think of using stick-on hooks – one size larger according to weight and I am thinking of possibly using an extra hook just to be on the safe side. I live in a retirement village and suspect they may have to be removed when I leave. Is it a viable option? I don’t want to have holes drilled. I won’t put them on an exterior wall that is exposed to the sun at all. Any adivce would be appreciated.

Reinforce with more if you are concerned and unsure and also trial with something that is not precious; then you will know if they will work for you.

very small pictures, very light weight, I did not find them very secure long term, alright for Christmas decorations but not for anything permanent, no matter what the packet says, sorry if you are in a rental but I would not use these for anything that was valuable to me.

We have used them. They were ok for small pictures but we had a big one fall at least twice especially when the weather was humid

As others have said the maximum weight chart is on the packets, I put some up years ago behind our bedroom door to hold dressing gowns & it has often had more weight over the years but still holding strong!
