  • There is a gadget you can buy yo do this. A friend of mine used one whilst she was pregnant. It was from Shopping Direct I think. If you do a google search, I’m sure you’ll find sonething similar

  • There are health aids for this kind of thing. I’d try googling to see who sells them and whether they’d work for you.

  • Have you tried lying on your back and raising your legs to put socks on? It might help as it would reduce pressure on hip. I have recently seen a gadget advertised on tv to put socks on. It’s like a long stick and you put your sock on the end of it, place it by you toes, put your foot in and pull. Can’t remember what it’s called tho

  • Hold would you go sitting on the couch and bending your legs up to pit socks on

  • I have seen a sock pulling on gadget……in chemists I think. They’re for arthritis sufferers, but they don’t make you bend over, sounds perfect for you

  • there is a sock puller on thingy sold at the shops that sell aides

  • Try and put them on when your still in bed.

  • Aww you poor thing plenty of great advice below and take care of yourself and your hip.

  • lol you poor thing. I can’t think of any way other than getting someone to help you

  • Some good advice below, if you live with other people maybe they could help?

  • there are some good comments here

  • I found putting socks or stocking on while still in bed the easiest option for me, also make sure they aren’t too tight.

  • If you can’t bend then sit on a chair and put you one foot on your other leg near to your stomach ( if you know what I mean) and that way you can put socks on without bending. Repeat the same way for the other foot.

  • Ask someone else to do it?

  • was looking for answers for a family member, ask a family member to help you or wear slip ons. You may need help with putting on your shoes also.

  • Some good advice there below.

  • I have a bad knee and find that some days I just wear my slip on shoes because I can’t get socks on

  • Suck up to hubby lol!

  • Hope you have found some way to manage.

  • Unfortunately there is no easy way unless you are a contortionist! I have a bad back and when it flairs up I either stick to my slip ons or have to ask hubby to put socks on for me.
