Hello!

Hi mums and mums to be, I am almost 10 weeks pregnant with number 4 and I’m curious to hear others experiences with their pregnancies. Head spins, back ache, EXTREME tiredness and a baby belly have been around in full force since around 6 weeks gest, and after having perfect pregnancies with no complications, morning sickness, or tiredness to hold me back, its thrown me for a sixer to say the least. I look 6 months pregnant by the end of the day, so holding of any announcements until the 12 week mark was not possible haha. With each pregnancy I’ve notice things happening sooner and sooner re normal symptoms (after birthpains were KILLER lol) and would like to find a place with other mums in the same position where we can talk about these things. Everything I have found relating to talking about pregnancies and birth all surround first timers, and never talk about ‘normal’ symptoms for women carrying their 3rd, 4th or more child. So I thought I would open a question here so I could hear some of your experiences, and put my mind at ease a little :) Thank you MoMs!

  • Hey IM new here but I like everything you said get back at me real soon

  • Congratulations!! My son is 7 months old and fourth baby/pregnancy so I can relate to the pregnancy symptoms you described. I had them all especially looking 6 months pregnant at around 2 months. Everyone was sure I was having twins. I weigh around 53kg and by the end of my last pregnancy I was 68kg so my back was killing me, balance was completely off and ankles were definetly cankles. My first three pregnancies were text book, no issues and no morning sickness but my fourth was opposite. I had really bad morning sickness in 1st and in 3rd trimester a d although normal according to my obstetrician it was a whole new foreign process to me.
The good news is labour was very fast and I had most of the the clothes and most furniture already so we didn’t really feel it financially then the first one when we had to buy everything.
    Good luck and best wishes.

  • They are symptoms of being pregnant with each subsequent ones being more harder than the previous, this is normal according to what I’ve been told.

  • I had my fourth child nearly four years ago and I was the same as you found that everything seemed to happen earlier or was more painful I put on 20kg with him to which was way more than my other 3 .
Maybe look around on Facebook for some groups that have people with 3 or more children, I must admit I found that very difficult.
I’m the only one in my friends group that has 4 children everyone else have only just had their 2nd or are pregnant with their 2nd child.
    Good luck

  • i had this with my second child. I think thats just being pregnant

  • there are some good comments here

  • congrats get as much help and rest as you need :)

  • Congrats! Get as much help as you can so you can focus on yourself too :)

  • You will probably be a lot tireder with this one, try and take it easy, accept any help offered. As you have noticed your body is into pregnancy mode a lot quicker. Enjoy your pregnancy.

  • How are the symptoms going now? Settling at all?

  • i hope all is going well

  • hope you are feeling better now and that everything is going well

  • Hope you are feeling a little better and all the best for the rest of your pregnancy.

  • Each pregnancy is often different, it may depend upon your age or health at the time too, and this includes stress! Just try to take the time to look after yourself as much as possible! I have a friend who just had number 6, she sailed through with any issues so I think it is very individual.

  • Everything that you could possible get we got it for all our pregnancies

  • Good luck I am not there yet with the 4th pregnancy but hopefully will be there soon

  • My next door neighbour is 78 years old . He is one of 11 children , boirn before all the mod cons of today. His Mother would be a great one to ask , unfortunately she is no longer with us. Best of luck , if possible try resting or meditation.

  • Ive only had 3 so cant comment on #4 but each of my pregnancies were different as were the labours.

A friend of mine who has 6 kids told me that her last was her strongest and longest labour.

I think we are all different and each pregnancy has its own quirks.

  • congrats ,I found my 4th the hardest in the aches and pain esp the pelvis area somedays was so hard to walk. My labor was fast i got to 4cms and then he flew out and the after pains was a bit rough but i have found that i haven’t bounced back as fast as the others as the aches and pain haven’t gone yet and my bubba boy is 4 months but as my mum likes to tell me i am not as young as i was with the others .As much as i sook about it I wouldn’t change it for the world.Goodluck for the rest of yours hopefully all goes fast and complication free

  • My 4th was much the same as my previous pregnancies with the exception that everything happened sooner.
I showed a lot sooner than the others & found everything exhausting from about 4 months. I had a lot of back & hip / pelvis pain which at times left me breathless & unable to move.
Recovery (I ended up with an emergency c-section a month early) was rough. My other 3 babies were naturally born & late so this one caught me by surprise!
I’m still, 12 months on trying to get my body back into shape & get rid of my tummy. I found the recovery in general to be longer & harder with this one (but oh so worth it), not sure if it was due to the caesar or not though.
As impossible as it is with 3 other cherubs – take it easy & enjoy :-)
