Hello!

Hi Mums. During the week I had my hair coloured at an organic salon with lovely products. Sadly, the colour of the foils is much lighter than I had warned and has resulted in the top of my hair being exceptionally dried out and therefore difficult to style. (My hair is usually soft and luscious without chemical intervention). Wondering if there are any natural based suggestions that might help with the condition? It looks terrible :/

  • A hair oil treatment or extra conditioner might help.

  • I would go back and show what happened and see what they do/say.
Recently I went to Hair House warehouse and bought for my 15yr beautiful nourishing shampoo conditioner and hair mask as a Xmas gift. They sell lovely stuff

  • Sounds like your may need a deep hair conditioning treatment?

  • go buy the shampoo that deposits hair colour

  • ohh gee sorry to read, I’ve had this happen to me, I now many hair masques to help somewhat with the dryness until it grows out. some great herbal henna based colours that colour hair without chemicals.

  • I’d go back and ask for a deep conditioning treatment.

  • As far as natural goes you could apply honey to your hair with a pastry brush and then apply a towel that you have soaked in warm water. Wring it out and wrap your hair in it and then wrap a dry towel over the top. Leave this on for at least 20 mins and then wash out.
I would invest in a good quality hair oil or even try the Redken Time Reset Corrective Defense.

  • I would be going to get a second opinion from another hairdresser.

  • Good Luck, I have been a shocker and not been to the hairdresser in about a year.

  • Sorry but I think you have your answer, natural foils don’t work as well as chemical ones. If you want lovely hair let it be and use natural shampoos and be happy with that natural shine.

  • I don’t know of any natural remedies but I certainly would be visiting a hairdresser to get a deep conditioning mask & repair treatment.

  • I would check with another hairdresser hun you might need treatment.

  • Check with another hairdresser.. You might need a treatment

  • I would go to a good hairdresser and ask them to fix up your problem. If they know their products well enough, then they should be able to help you.

  • I would also suggest you revisit the salon and show them your dry hair.
    A natural treatment is to:
Mix 1/2 cup of honey, 2 tbsp olive oil and 1 egg yolk or 1/2 mashed avocado. Apply to clean, damp hair and leave on for 20 -30 mins, (you can put a shower cap on if you wish), then rinse with warm water. Try this treatment once a week, then monthly.
All the best to you. :-)

  • Yah, at least touch base with them and explain what you are experiencing. People make mistakes and someone could have missed something. Good luck!

  • I’d go back and ask for a conditioning treatment…. What you got is clearly not what you asked for.

But if you’re determined to not go back slather some of your favourite conditioner all over the damaged parts and pop a shower cap on top (or glad wrap your hair) and then wrap in a towel to keep it warm for as long as you can to get some moisture back in there.

Pantene also has a leave in overnight conditioner that I use right after I’ve done my roots.
