No real traditions although at primary school the kids had a father’s day stall for a few years and got little gifts. We still do share token gifts with dad, but nothing major. Usually let him decide what to do with the day – whether that’s a family walk thing or him going off with the guys
Pretend the day does not exist. My father has passed away, and as my daughter’s father chose to abandon us, it is our least favourite time of year, especially with the many Father’s Days activities at school; Father’s Day Breakfast, stall for gifts (over two days), Mass.
No traditions here … having lost both my dad and my FIL, there doesn’t seem much point … hubby isn’t interested in it for himself, so we usually just have a day like any other.
Because my Dad has passed some time ago and we have moved a long way from his grave I just celebrate Fathers day with my husband and we have a quiet lunch together in a little restaurant of his choice. It is lovely and we always remember the fathers that have passed with fond memories
