Making your own bread does smell and taste delicious but it is far more expensive than bread you can buy from the supermarket or bakery, so keep that in mind as part of your decision.
You will also need space to store the bread maker, and the bread itself is usually smaller than packaged.

Go for it when you’re passionate about it; nothing better then waking up with the smell of fresh bread !

Buy one as there is nothing better than smelling bread cooking in the kitchen.

I don’t have one because I’d rather just buy bread, so I guess it depends on how enthusiastic you are about making your own bread.

My sister in law has one and what she used to do is make it late in the evening with a timer and wake up with fresh bread. You do have to put the ingredients and someone told me it dearer than buying a loaf of bread. I would look at the box and check the instructions first .

I was given a Breville bread maker for Christmas last year by my husband and it’s the best present ever. The bread is absolutely delicious and I love the fresh bread smell wafting through the house too. Mine also makes jam and mixes dough for pizza and pasta

yes, I got one and it’s amazing. I can make lots of bread, and even pizza dough. it’s a great idea.

Also; I use it daily and sometimes twice a day.

We found it took quite a while to get the knack of making the bread so it was light enough (ie not gluggy, heavy) but after that it was quite delicious. Main problem is that we still haven’t mastered the art of keeping the loaves to a size that makes sandwich box friendly slices – it’s generally too “tall”. So we go through phases of using the bread maker and phases of buying it.

You’ll absolutely love the aroma of fresh-baked bread going through your house. But … be prepared for the following …
– the bread can be difficult to slice, so may not be suitable for sandwiches, especially in lunch-boxes
– the bread doesn’t stay fresh as long as many commercially-prepared breads do
– it isn’t cheap compared to buying most bread available in the supermarkets
– it is seriously addictive to eat, especially when it’s warm from baking, with a crunchy outer shell, so unless you’re blessed with incredible willpower, you may find yourself putting on weight from eating slices of fresh-baked bread and butter

Having said all that, I’d recommend borrowing a bread-maker from someone you know, and use a good pre-prepared bread mix like Laucke, and see if you like it. Better this than spending money on a bread-maker, then finding that it’s not what your family like.

i love fresh bread that i have made. i borrowed my parents to decide if i wanted to buy one. i used it everyday and love love loved the bread but it wasn’t that ideal for sandwiches etc for hubby at work. it was great for toasting in the oven to eat for breakfast or with meals though. it’s well worth having one but if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to buying bread, it isn’t cheaper unless you buy the $5 loaves of bread from the supermarket.
