Good coconut substitutes? I would love to know what you can substitute coconut with in recepies. Both types, dry and coconut milk.

  • Why not just avoid recipes that have coconut or coconut milk in? If you’re allergic or just don’t like it, this option makes the most sense to me. Leaving coconut out just destroys a recipe. It’s not hard to find recipes without coconut

  • Great! Really interesting reading the comments on this!

  • there are some good comments here

  • try the new recipes from mouth of mums there are some great ideas.

  • Can use dairy milk or cream to substitute. If vegan then nut butter & nut milks are good.

  • It really depends on the recipe you are following – some you can just leave it out. Things like rum balls you can use biscuit crumbs and the same for other sweet recipes.

  • how did you go? :)

  • Some helpful answers below. Hope they are useful.

  • I don’t like coconut in lot of things either so these were great suggestions which I will be using too – thanks.

  • There are some good answers below.

  • almond mik maybe, would also like to know more :)

  • Sorry, I’m curious to know myself.

  • some good answers here ladies.

  • What did you end up using?

  • Yoghurt or cream or normal milk

  • vanilla essence or bean can be used instead of coconut. with the coconut milk, use sour cream, milk or normal cream

  • This is good to know..good advise

  • You can use coconut essence in milk, cream or yogurt for flavour. If its an allergy you would have to check if its made with real coconut.

  • You can use almond milk or cream, natural yogurt. If you want to make rum balls just use crushed biscuits instead, or finely shredded oats, nuts, custard powder can be substituted in deserts as well.

  • Substitute normal dairy or soy perhaps?
