I have given away all that I can, I have made apple juice, apple sauce, stewed apples, apple cake and apple pies and still have over 60 kgs left! I have no way to seal jars for canning – does anyone have any other ideas?? ( Oh and I don’t drink so all alcohols are out lol) Tyyyyyyyy” Got any awesome appley ideas for 60Kgs of Apples?

  • Wow what an awesome haul! Stewed apples are delicious and would freeze well for pancakes and yoghurt!

  • Oh wow, 60kgs, I’m sure even with all the suggestions, most will be rotten before you get to cook them

  • Donate to a food bank or sell on fb.

  • If you have access to a food dehydrator you could dry them.

  • I would preserve them in jars, ready to make apple pie or apple mash from it.

  • I am sure a lot of friends/family would love some apples . Recipes such as apple pie, apple crumble , apple sauce , apple cake ? Pink Ladys are my favourite as they have a bit of a sour taste on the buds which I like .

  • I would get some ready puff pastry, peel core& chop apples,a little sugar, water, mixed spice a clove if you have one, take it out once the Apple mix is cooked, cut the pastry in squares, place mix down half the side, flip other side over, press with fork, prick it,brush with milk& sugar, apple turnovers, quite easy & yummy.Cook until brown turning once.

  • I’m really not sure other than what you have already made.
Perhaps you could make more to donate to your local hospital, seniors centre, salvation army, places like that? If you felt up to it of course!
The apples alone I’m sure would be greatly appreciated by your local primary school &/or kindergarten!

  • Great! Really interesting reading the comments on this!

  • sorbet. can you dry/dehydrate any? that would be handy for school snacks and to put in muesli bars etc

  • there are some good comments here

  • Oh wow – that is a lot of apples. I saw apple chips in MoM recipes or also drying them (dehydrating) could have been a way to preserve them too.

  • what did you end up doing with them all?

  • Wow – what did you do with them all in the end?

  • you can freeze apple sauce, stewed apples and then use them later. Salvation Army could have been another option. Hope they went to good use :)

  • What did you end up doing with them all?

  • What other ideas did you end up using?

  • I hope you found a way to utilise them or donate to school or perhaps a charity.

  • Donate to school or church.

  • Hope you managed to use them all up.
