Hello!

I am trying to cut back on my spending, and not purchase salon shampoo/conditioners. Just wondering if there are any particular supermarket shampoo & conditioner brands or products other mums can highly recommend? For myself, not children. There seems to be so many options and I don’t want to waste more money buying ones that are no good. Thanks mums! Do you have any hair product recommendations?

  • Dove or Toni and Guy but everyones hair needs are different

  • Have you tried EcoStore products ?They’re natural and silicon free

  • I really like Toni and Guy. Often on sale at Priceline or Woolies.

  • Aldi’s protane argan oil range is amazing!! The coconut oil range is also great and smells like marshmellows my son reckons lol

  • I love the smell of the Pantene rosewater shampoo and conditioner, but right now I’m just using simple OC. Cheap and makes my hair surprisingly soft.

  • treseme has always been budget friendly and been suitable for the whole family and with good results.

  • I’m still trying to find one that I like the best. I think it’s going to be trial and error so my only tip is to buy when they’re on special. Sorry I can’t be of more help. Good luck

  • I am using aldi brand and I am happy with it.

  • Don’t buy Panteen…it ruined my hair. I use a brand from Coles called MILK

  • Everyone seems to have a different answer, so I guess you will have to do your homework on which one to buy yourself. Buy when they are on special so it’s not too much of a wrench to throw them out if you really cannot stand them.

  • I love the Dove Haircare range and buy it when on special.

  • I use Sunsilk longer and stronger. My hair has grown so much from using it, it’s almost up to my butt!

  • Personally, I like Schwartzkopf and Sunsilk.

  • There’s a few I like- Treseme, Toni & Guy and John Freida- these are all salon quality and I’ve often seen them on half price special at Coles and Woolworths.

  • I’m loving Shampoo With a Purpose bars. They are a shampoo and conditioner in one :)

  • Agardir argan oil shampoo and conditioner is the only thing that works for me! Free from many nasties. Sold at Woolies.

  • Hi, hairdresser here ????????‍♀️ I do highly do not recommend any super marker shampoos , most of them have silicon in them and over time coat your hair , I know some professional hair dressing brands can be expensive but they are worth it ans last longer as there more concentrated , I’d recommend trying natural look brand that’s a cheaper professional brand or matrix hands down love it, just be careful with supermarket brand, if you were to go to a salon and get your hair coloured or beached it would cause a big chemical reaction , and colours will always fade , it’s up to you what you do tho just wanted to share my advice , good luck mumma

  • have always treseme to be good value and works well.

  • Over the years I’ve tried alot of supermarket brands I’ve found head and shoulders and garnia fructis to be the best for my hair type alot of the other brands would make my scalp itchy

  • Depends. What is your hair type? What are your hair concerns? Products are different for everyone
