Hello!

Hey all, just wondering if anyone else has started growing random whiskers on their face? I’m only 35, and I’ve started to get random dark hairs grow on my face. I get a couple on my chin, and a few either side of my upper lip. Has anyone else experienced something like this? And do you know why it could be happening? Thank you.

  • Since the cause is most often hormonal, you could seek advise in regards to hormonal treatment

  • This is happening to me too!

  • I’ve been getting hair on my face for years. It’s called hirsutism. Excess hair growth. It’s plagued me no end. I’ve tried plucking, creams, epilator etc etc but still nothing works. I think it’s to do with hormones more than anything else. It’s just one big pain in the butt. Sympathy to you. ????

  • It just comes with age. Thicker and more often as you age. They appear from absolutely nowhere overnight.

  • I think it’s all part of getting older

  • Yes, I’ve been getting them for years. I eat healthy and exercise, so its not my diet. It’s possibly hormonal, getting a checkup with the doc to make sure everything is in order is always a good idea.

  • I have two that grow out of a mole I have on my neck which I white and I pluck when I see them and I also have one either side of my upper lip which are small dark ones that I pluck when I can feel them with my tongue.when they are little and sharp.

  • Always the chin! A good large mirror and quality tweezers do help with identifying the random hairs.

  • Ok i feel more normal after reading the comments. Embarrassingly, yes I do. I’ve been plucking them recently with tweezers. They only recently started popping up in dark spots on my skin on the bottom of my chin and just next to the side of my ear on my face on another dark spot. Also on and around my top lip. I’m 30. Even getting more on my chest I’ve been tweezing. Laser hair removal sounds great but I’ve heard it can actually increase/stimulate hair growth in the lip area.

  • They have been random for quite a while! Tweezers make quick work of removing them.

  • Yes, I have a couple that just appeared on my neck and a couple at the corners of my mouth. I put it down to menopause

  • Yes it’s happened to me, I noticed whilst I was pregnant with my first baby. I had laser on my upper lip which helped but after having my second I’ve noticed random ones on my chin, I think it’s due to hormones but I could be wrong ????‍♀️

  • I would suggest a naturopath or tradtional chinese medicine to bring your body back into balance.

  • I think it has to do with hormonal imbalances.
I would seek advice from an experienced Naturopath when it bothers you.

  • Yes, sure do, I am 31. I use tweezers to remove them as they “pop” up.

  • Yes, that’s the perfect age when it starts, then it escalates! (Sorry!) Looking back that was likely the slow start of perimenopause for me (which can take years) so hormonal for sure. Help from a naturopath to balance my body more and correct bad habits with food has helped slow things down. I also have laser done and electrolysis (white and dark hairs) to keep on top of it as much as I can. I hate it with a passion but I am doing all I can – but you can’t stop it!

  • Yesss! This started for my in my 20’s ????

  • Yes I just pluck them randomly !

  • Omg yes and only on one side. They are quite thick too, they grow back super fast. I worry people can see them. I am not 100% sure why they appear but I wonder if it has something to do with your body changing? For me I am going through early menopause and I’ve put it down to that, whether of not it actually has anything to do with it. I now carry tweezers everywhere lol

  • Yes I have the same problem just random whiskers I intend to try and pull them out but mine still come back lol
