Hello!

“Hi I am worried and want to ask other mums through you. Any mum out there who experienced PROM (premature rupture of membranes) or know someone, what are the chances for same event in next pregnancy. I had PROM in my last pregnancy 8th month. and this one is already so painful. Its my 6th month and am so scared that it might happen any day. I didn’t had much time to heal and I feel that my membrane is getting cracked already. It might sound weird, but please I need some advice.”

  • Oh dear, I clicked in this thinking it was a prom, as in high school dance. Oops

  • Speak to your specialist for advice if you are worried.

  • The power of the mind is either an asset or a burden, its easy to say dont stress, but it really is best for you and bub. If you have concerns talk to your doctor, we all want happy healthy babies, hopefully all worked out well!

  • I had this at 34weeks, stayed in hospital for another week before being induced due to chances of infections.

  • Hope it didn’t turn out as bad as you thought it would.

  • I hope it did not get any worse for you.

  • No Experience Hun but I wish you the best of Luck in your pregnancy.

  • Talk with your midwife about it

  • Hope everything worked out well for you

  • Maybe u should make a doctors app?

  • I hope that you were ok

  • hopefully you Ob kept a close eye on you. how did you go?

  • I hope all went well for you. I haven’t experienced prom so can’t be of any assistance there.

  • Do you mean premature baby?

  • my first was premature because the membrane burst, bubs will be put on antibiotic to ensure no bacteria got to him/her. my second child was cesarian because he has the cord aound his neck 4x so the membrane got popped by the doctor. Its a rarity for it to happen to begin with, dont fret for your next bubs ;)

  • See your GP about your concerns.

  • Doesnt sound too good at all. Good luck

  • there is some great info on this thread but I agree with others, talk to your doc about it :D

  • I had it happen literally 2.5 weeks ago. I was 35 weeks & my waters broke. I went to hospital & they gave me 2 lots of steroid shots to mature bubs lungs before inducing me. which they had to due to avoid infection. I would pay close attention & if it does happen, go straight to hospital so they can monitor you. Also mention it to them when you go in for your antenatel appointment. Hopefully it doesn’t happen this time round :) Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy & I hope it all goes to plan.

  • Hope that is helpful :-)
