Hello!

I used to play club netball until I was 18.. I want to get back into a sport (not really netball) and just want to know other peoples experiences? I don’t know anyone that is in a sport atm, just women who attend fitness groups and gyms.

  • Personally not, but I have some friends who’re into football and hockey

  • Alot of team sports stopped over the Covid Pandemic, but I think its great for us physically and mentally to be a part of a sporting group. I wish I lived close enough to join mixed netball again.

  • I was in an adults social netball team. Totally out of my comfort zone but it ended up being great.

  • A lot of clubs run Come and Try Days – maybe use these to try a few different sports to see what works for you.

  • I played netball until I was 18 too. Then moved to Yamba, northern NSW and with my girlfriend we started netball up there. We started with 5 teams and now it’s absolutely huge. I don’t live there anymore, I moved to Qld and my house backs onto netball courts. So I started playing again here. I was 40 when I finished. Then later I coached 15yr old girls (????????). I hurt myself that’s why I stopped. But if you want to get back into it just look up netball clubs in your area. Most of them have women’s teams and it’s usually of a night. They also play netball in inside sports centres as well so just have a look. I hope you get back into it. Good luck.

  • I was going to suggest indoor mixed netball. Something different and fun. Not sure what else

  • I am to lazy and already have to much on my mind …so sport and me time it’s on my last spot….

  • I’ve never been into sport, and still am not, but a lot of my friends find it a great social outlet as well as good for their fitness.

  • I don’t do any sports but a gf of mine does hockey and she loves it.
Says they’re a really tight knit group and it keeps her fit.
They go away for tournaments to places like Canberra and Orange sometimes which is at their own expense but none of them mind as they all love it.
